hy,

hier ganz kurz der Graph vom Jänner. Hab NL 5 (!) -NL 50 gespielt. NL 5 aus Spaß ein bisschen weils auf win2day seit neuestem angeboten wird und wollt mal schaun was da so abgeht (erinnert mich an win2day in seinen anfängen, man raist 7 spieler callen - für einsteiger sehr profitabel zu spielen!)

graph ist nicht korrekt da ich bsw. mal einen nl10 tisch zu schnell geschlossen habe nach einem 2outer suckout gegen mich :( und ein paar sit and goes gespielt die overall ein bisschen im minus sind (3-4 €)

aber auch ein 5ter oder 6ter platz beim bertha sunday (ca. 43€ +) scheint da drin nicht auf. hab knapp am 1k geknabbert. aber vlt gelingts im februar (guter start mit aktuell schon 175 auf der haben Seite!)

aber man wird halt mit den jahren etwas faul^^ momentan läuft ein NL-50 Experiment meinerseits mit freundlicher Unterstützung von fonti fontaene ^^

den graph bitte nur als anhaltspunkt hernehmen. der tracker hat mir einige hände gefressen sodass die winnings so nicht stimmen! würd sagen so 80€ muss man abziehen vom graphen dann kommts glaub ich hin. sick ist halt, dass ich im november schon auf 1,4k winnings war und ab da ging gar nichts mehr. im dezember tw 5 buy ins down. der ist aber jetzt zumindest auf even gebracht......
hab aber aufgrund des downswings relativ wenig nl 50 gespielt weil es halt dann schon etwas mehr geld ist dass da flöten geht und weil ich unglaublich lächerliche beats bekommen habe (bis zu 2 outern....) und da hab ich um den tilt vorzubeugen oft schon früh abgebrochen.

der knick ist nicht sehr ästhetisch :D aber naja bis dahin liefs auch saugut und downswings gibts überall ich denk aber ich bin schon wieder am richtigen weg!

hallo!
ein verspätetes september recap.......hatte keine lust zu bloggen ^^
naja der langen rede kurzer sinn: im september auf nl10 durch einen swing gekämpft. weil auf 20k hands + "nur" bisschen über 300 € ist jetzt nicht besonders gut. da kann man schon das doppelte erwarten aber ok. es war nunmal nicht mehr drin und mit dem betrag bin ich zufrieden nur stimmt die relation zur investierten zeit nicht :)

nunja es klingt komisch von einem swing zu reden wenn man den graphen sieht^^ aber im schnitt war die winrate in diesem monat einfach unterdurchschnittlich. ende august anfang september auch eine phase mit ich glaube fast 10k hands wo ich fast nichts gewonnen habe man siehts auch im graphen hier: ersten 6,5k hands "nur" 30up!!! selbst nach 9k hands erst 90 up! da hab ich in manch anderen monaten auf 9k hands 350+ gehabt^^
und auch zwischen drin sind swings erkennbar: von hand 13k bis 16k (ungefähr) break even.....und von hand 17k -19,8k detto. und dann hat man auf einmal 10k hände wo ich defakto nix gewonnen habe :D

grüß euch.......

heute mal ein bisschen was zu meinm charakter^^ nunja ich bin ein Kämpfer! never give up......worauf ich hinauswill ist pokerbezogen :) es ist unfassbar was ich in letzter zeit für einen downswing hatte bzw was ich auch für einen bockmist zusammenspielte im tilt.......waren zwar meist nei große böcke aber mein game war bestenfalls C+

und dann krieg ich die lächerlichsten beats. vlt einen als demonstration was ich meine:

Gegner zwei bekannte vollfische. ich wusste genau einer callt...als beide callen (vor allem der erste snap call^^) war mir unwohl wil ich ws schon wusste was mir blüht. den flop hasste ich. ich mein wenigstens mein read stimmte als ich einem sofort AQ gab. ich sag zu fontaene immer: wie soll ich eine session mit 50+ beenden wenn ich, wenn ich schon leicht up bin, solche hände andauernd verliere :( ich renne wirklich unlucky und muss unglaublich fighten um das dann wieder zu reparieren und wirklich manchmal mein "ganzes können" auspacken......

die turn karte ist der pure hohn. ich geb ihm nie AJ er hat hier öfters KQ meine ich oder auch ein anderes set........tja dann bist 30 down und weißt nicht recht warum und dann geht der kampf los

muss auch sagen: hatte vor zwei tagen eine session kurzfristig bei -50. tag endete bei +30! also auch eine nervenprobe!!! ich sehs auch von der sehr positigven seite. wenn ich so phasen irgendwie gut überstehe ja wie schauts dann aus wenn ich einen guten run hab??

die hand vollendete mein comeback. ein riesenfels fiel mir da vom herzen. und was es für eine hand ist mit der ich gewinne ist einfach typisch für eine irre downswingphase. es muss meine lieblingshand im BB herhalten:

ich wusste sofort: das ist die beste karte im ganzen deck. gegner hatte 64/2 also eine komplette calling station und ich machte den perfekten move^^ war schon lange nicht mehr so glücklich wie nach dieser hand.........

6k hände schon im september udn schreckliche 52€ nur up :D ist wirklich mies aber ok solang ich gewinn mach ists ok. nur frag ich mich wann ich aller fontaene spiele eine session wos richtig für mich läuft. ^^

was auch gut war. hab gegen einen fisch heads up gespielt eh der der mich mit AQ ausgesuckt hat als ich KK hatte. hab ihn mit der zeit geowned. und dann kackt mein internet ab. er saß mit 36€da ich hatte zwar erst 6€ gewonnen wusste aber was er macht und hatte ihn in der hand. das war schade hätte gern noch weiter gespeilt gegen ihn. naja aber nach dem absturz des netztes und neustarts kams zur 84 hadn also alles hat seine guten seiten....

Hallo hallo! in den letzten wochen war es ja recht ruhig hier. hmm ja liegt wohl daran, dass ich z.b. den ganzen juli in wien verbracht habe (praktikum) und deshalb nicht wirklich zum zocken kam. im august war ich dann eine woche in new york (absolut geile stadt kann ich nur empfehlen) und tja. so läuft es eben auch mal. aber es ist auch wichtig dass man mal abstand vom poker bekommt :) wobei ganz weg war es eh nicht. ich hab in wien z.b. zwei turniere im montesino gespielt (leide rzweimal knapp außerhalb der geldränge einmal 28ter 23. wurden bezahlt) aber auch das war wieder eine wertvolle erfahrung. habe in den letzten 2 monaten nur 5k hände online geschafft und da immerhin 170 € (nur nl 10) gewinnen. :) also es passt.

in nächster zeit werde ich aber wieder regelmäßig auf den tischen unterwegs sein. mal schaun. wenns was interessantes gibt dann lest ihr es hier....

lack of motivation / 2 differing hands

Hey guys,
currently there are not so many poker-related-things going on in my life. I don't know why, but while I still enjoy playing poker, my motivation to grind is extremely low and I can't get myself to focus on putting in some quality hands. That is why I have only put in 7 hours of play in June and find myself down 50€, since I have not been playing my A-game over those dreaded 7 hours. Obviously it's not a big problem financially, but I am a little bit concerned with my lack of stamina and passion for the game since it is my plan to support myself by playing poker over the summer. Sure, obviously I've got some money in the bank and could stomach one summer without income, but I'd prefer to have a higher net worth by the end of summer, instead of seeing my liquidity being diminuished.
Played a 100-minute NL10-FR-session for motivation purposes today and I can say that things went pretty smoothly for the most part. Even though I am not very motivated atm I still love poker very much, and the following two hands can somehow illustrate my love of the game pretty well. It's so sick how relative handstrenghtes can be when facing different villains! Characterizing your villain appropriately and then making the adequate desicion, that's what it's all about.

#1 AQs Looks really huge and was not that easy. Villain was playing something like 60/30/15 over 50 hands, so you could see a certain tendency. He had tried to bluff me (unsucessfully) before and had made me lay down AK in a 3bet-pot, which had tilted me a little. So in this hand against this guy I think I can't fold the flop. He will be raising so many hands pf and is not likely to give up on that kind of board. I will be good here a fair % of the time, sometimes I will have him dominated and get a lot of action when be both hit our overcards, and even if he has a pair I normally have decent equity with my overcards and backdoor flushdraw. On the turn things get weird. Now I am not so confident about my hand anymore since I was not sure if he would really 2nd-barrel all that often, but on the other hand it is hard to see what he can have. He has to be concerned with me having hit that 6, so I didn't think he would be likely to bluff, but what the hell should he have exept for an overpair maybe. But his pf-range was so wide that those hands were only a small % of his total range. Once I call the turn I think it is fairly obligatory to call the river. No draws got in there and if he really is that aggressive (which I did not know by then, I was assuming it) then it is likely that he will go all the way with his bluff. And to be honest, if he was handreading (of which I am not convinced he was) he would probably have thought that I have some weakish pocket pair or 78, therefore I thought in his shoes it would make more sense to try to bluffcatch with an overpair than to bet out for value. But I could be totally wrong with that assumption, maybe he plays TT+ just the same as he did KQ. I don't know. Worked out pretty well for me this time.

#2 76 He is loose-passive. I can only tie here, no way he is betting anything worse for that size, plus he is never bluffing. Agreed?

Poker is a sick game. Calling 3barrels with A high and winning 70BB, then folding trips to a river bet and only losing 3BB in the process. It's so weird if you think about it. But I truely believe both hands have been played just the way they were supposed to be played.

Besides poker it's all good.

Kurzer Rück- und Ausblick

Wollt eigentlich schon vor ner Woche einen neuen Blog verfassen, aber irgendwie fehlt meist die Motivation. Grund war diesmal mehr als erfreulich, nachdem ich das 100er Freezeout in Velden gewonnen hatte. Im offiziellen Ergebnis-Sheet steht zwar ein anderer Name an Position 1 - dies war aber nur wegen der Punkte die es hierfür gab - wir machen nämlich am Ende einen Deal zu dritt ... ich hatte über 300k Chips vor mir, die beiden anderen zusammen gleich viel. Der Erste hätte normal 1.750 Euro bekommen, der zweite dann 1.290 usw. ... Deal war so, dass ich 1,5k bekam und die beiden anderen je 1,2 ... das war für mich voll ok (wollten mir zuerst eh nur 1,4 geben .. bisschen verhandeln musste schon sein) .. jedenfalls war ich danach sehr happy ;-) ... [abgesehen davon dass ich beim Roulette ebenfalls nochmal 250 gemacht hab und Velden mir an diesem Abend sehr viel Freude machte).

Soviel also rückblickend .. was steht aber als nächstes an: Am Freitag eröffnet endlich das Montesino Klagenfurt .. gibt ein entsprechendes Turnier mit voraussichtlich 5k gtd price money .. mal sehen ob das wirklich stimmt (wird am Ende sicher noch in estimated umgewandelt haha). Jedenfalls zock ich als Vorbereitung am Mittwoch das letzte 5er Rebuy im aktuell noch vorhandenen No-Limit Vereinslokal (ehemals JPS Cardroom und zukünftig eben Montesino) .. wird ein lustiges Baustellen-Turnier, weil aktuell diese Woche umgebaut wird :D

Dann steht also Freitag das 40+4 Turnier zur Eröffnung statt (dazu gibts noch ein Dealer Addon zu kaufen .. wird also eh sozusagen ein 50er werden .. wobei ursprünglich hätt es ein 80er sein sollen, egal) .. werd aufgrund der zu erwartenden CG-Action auch Freitag (Tag1A) und Samstag (Tag1B) beide Tage bis in die Nacht vor Ort sein .. wird bestimmt nice. Sonntag ist dann Finale (sofern ich es bis dorthin schaffe, mal sehen). Anschliessend gibt's ca. ne Woche Pause .. und dann startet am 9. Juli die CAPT in Velden, wo ich auch fix anzutreffen sein werde.

Dort ist vorerst nur Cashgame 2/4 Texas geplant, .. wobei ich schon kurz davor war mich für das 300 NL Turnier einzukaufen. Kumpel meinte sogar ich soll aufgrund der Struktur eher das 500er nehmen, wär auch nice .. aber irgendwie ist mir das dann doch schon zu hoch. Denke ich guck mir erst das CG an oder schau dass ich vllt. das Montesino Ding ship, dann können wir drüber sprechen :D ... CG lief's ja zuletzt auch top, daher eigentlich eh in Ordnung. Im August geht's dann um den 12. herum entweder nach Pörtschach zur Kärntner Meisterschaft oder nach Wien zur ETCOP im Montesino ... bin mir da noch nicht ganz sicher. Abseits all dieser Live Action tut sich nicht viel ... hab meine online-Aktivitäten gänzlich eingestellt, obwohl ich kurz überlegt hab die Qualifier fürs ME in Velden zu probieren (auf w2d), aber denk ist eher -ev für mich ;)

unberechenbar muss man bleiben :)
dann wird man manchmal auch belohnt. wer gibt mir hier schon AK? bin aber tausend tode gestorben am turn und am river. witzigerweise dürfte es meinem gegner gleich gegagen sein. er hatte wohl die schlechtere straight und gab mir sicher nicht AK sondern wohl eher two pair (turn pairt das board) oder oesd+flush draw^^

perfekter kann man ein monat nicht starten! 98BB's/100 Hände (!!!!!!!!!!!) über die ersten 4 tage.
oder in zahlen: 680 Hände gespielt. ~67€ plus :D dazu noch die letzten beiden mai tage 40€ plus. also die letzte woche war hammer ;-)

lange lange nicht mehr set over set gehabt^^ wurde mal wieder zeit. fast würd ich sagen glück im missclick^^ pf verdrückt. wollt nicht wirklich auffüllen. nur hier warst wurst. bzw. naja J9 krieg ich wohl durch ein pf raise raus. das war auch die einzige hand vor der ich angst hatte. utg doch eher ein looser herr und meister seines faches. als er am flop als einziger übrig blieb und den turn auch nur callte war ich mir sicher vorn zu sein. river traumkarte! nur dachte ich dann kurz: räbäää er hat sicher nur flush draw ghabt und mucked river^^ - weit gefehlt :)

hi folks!

long time since my last entry, long time since I was in the right mood to blog about poker .. dunno why and even don’t have any ideas where my motivation went … maybe just needed a vacation in Vegas or somewhere else :D … but who cares, .. now while I’m writing these words I already think about what comes next.

the last weeks and months it dawned one me: forget online poker, focus on live! .. and that dawning light was right, feeling pretty ok now with this decision. of course, from time to time I’m making a visit to online sites, but I’m not playing .. and if I do it’s just for the fun on rainy days .. nothing special.

my last post was in january, so normally I would have to sum up 5 months now .. but that’s too much and I even can’t remember everything. to make it short: my regular cardroom closed it’s doors some two or three months ago .. due to some problems of the owners and their partners from former times .. so the name JPS was no longer good for any type of game as the finance had a look on everything and even the courts were involved.

good thing was, that before this happened, some people founded a new poker club called No Limit, but the success of this guild is more or less not the best. they have some members of course, but the active ones are just a few .. maybe 20 or 30 maximum. so that means on club tournaments they normally have one or two tables .. and that’s it. after the name JPS was banned from the landscape, the club took assumed management of the room, to still guarantee poker games .. but the clientele wasn’t so convinced about this offer.

actions spread out to the remaining three or four little card rooms in the city, .. not my locations to be honest and I never was in one of them before .. not interested, not that nice .. many facts. so I made a little break but also joined the No Limit guild which is having their own championships now (some sort of a race to the carinthian champs in Pörtschach this August) .. playing two tourneys every months to gain points for the ranking to win a ticket. so far on the club internal tourney I’m way in front (seems like I’m still one of the best tournament players in the area .. don’t like self-praising, but I heared that from several regulars and good players, and I even notice respect when I come to a tourney or sit on the table .. that’s nice to see) .. so far we had four ranking events .. won two of them, became 2nd once and one time I failed to hit anything and went out in 13th or so .. so the lead is mine and it looks good I can hold it.

beside I looked for others games .. found a new home for cash game at a nearby poker cafe, where another guild was founded before. they have some little tourneys from time to time and regular cashgames, normally twice a week and very fishy … many bad players, many fish, .. and lots of dead money .. so I was infront some 1,2 or 1,3k in April (I first went there in late march or beginning april I think) .. started to get a little downswing in early May, when loosing some 300-500 bucks in about three sessions, but came back and already win it back I would say. the last two weeks I wasn’t playing that much .. had that 2nd place on the club champs, played a 100 euro freezeout at Casino Velden for the first time, but went out in Level 4 (first one after the break) when I had AK suited in hearts against black kings and no ace or hearts came on the board. this evening I had 130 euro minus at the moment I busted out of the tourney .. and registered for 1/2 texas, … maybe the tightest table I ever played … no fish, no gamblers, no crazy idiots .. just solid rocks … and I was card dead for about 4 hours .. we started play around 9PM and I was sitting there until 1AM .. when I finally managed to get some hands (after some player changes and also lucky cards) and get even .. means I had 130 plus on the CG and called it an evening in Velden, jumped into my car and went home .. so the evening was +/- zero :D .. but a nice experience, also meeting a lot of nice people I know from former times and the tournaments/cashgames in Klagenfurt, but maybe haven’t seen for a long time.

to sum up my long post now: on tournaments there is no big action at the moment, .. I normally don’t get ITM on the normal ones (which are rare and use to be 5-euro-rebuys etc., nothing special) .. and on the other hand rule the tables on the club championsship (but there the pricepool is just half the money because half of it goes into the pool for the carinthian-champs-tickets) .. but anyways it’s money :) and I’m fine with the situation. cashgame provided me a good plus through the last 2 months, .. in total I may have 1k up .. I can’t tell you exact, but that’s good.

last but not least, best of all: Montesino is coming to town .. which means, the location of my former card room will be overtaken by the viennese poker company Montesino on franchise (don’t know the details of the deal) and will be managed by the guy of that poker cafe I play CG right now .. new chef, new rules, new tables, new tournaments and finally more players, because all players from the area will be concentrated in one place now … and the name Montesino normally stands for quality .. hopefully it will in Klagenfurt too! official re-opening will be around late june/early july I think .. they already had a dealer seminar some two weeks ago, with a guy from Vienna, having 15 years of experience on EPT and other famous grounds, .. so I hope the team will be fine for everything. (little comment: during the time of No Limit Club I was asked to help out as a dealer three times .. wasn’t a problem, even when I never had a any education, but it was just for tournaments and my experience through the years was enough to manage it without any problems .. and I even got paid for it .. so it was a nice thing .. liked it and even think about making a dealer seminar later on in my life, maybe a chance for a 3rd or 4th job if it is necessary in future times).

ok now it’s enough of mine .. sooo much , .. toooooo much ;) .. but when I’m writing I can’t stop haha. keep you up to date about news from Montesino Klagenfurt and what will be next .. also maybe post some more hands or words in the future again .. but I’m not sure. my summer plans: goin to the CAPT Velden in July (only thinking about cash games, maybe hitting one small buy-in mtt) and also thinking about a visit to Bregenz, to see old friends working in the casinos there, or goin to Graz and Vienna to play some bigger tournaments for small money :)

Hey guys,
even though poker-related stuff has not been going so great lately and my motivation to play has been pretty low, life is good overall. Lots of other stuff to do, travelling around a bit, playing soccer, doing some university stuff that was quite interesting.
Have now just gotten in a session at NL20SH and I truely enjoyed playing, which in the last couple month has not often been the case. Even though I ran pretty terrible to start the session, I maintained my cool and eventually could turn things around.
Some hands for you:
#1 KK Given the fact that I trap-flatted pf I don't think there is any way I can get away from this in a SH-environment, even though my villain was a pretty solid player. I am getting 2,4:1 to call his shove, so if he only has QQ or KK also some % of the time I should not fold. Think I played that one accordingly. Btw. I just flatted the initial-raise because the SB rated to be a big squeezer.
#2 AK Pretty weird spot, but still a lot coolerish I feel. Pf is standard, pretty amazing that both guys call me there. If I don't hit the flop I just give up in that spot. Obviously I am going to bet on that flop, I think my sizing was pretty justified with half pot. No need to bet bigger. When the rather loose/passive guy shoves on my, I have to wonder what I can beat. I don't really see him doing that with KQ. But it's tough to flop sets. So I figured he would have AK as well there some % of the time, against which I am chopping/freerolling with the A of spades, and there is allready a lot of money in the pot and I allready had nearly half my stack invested, so I decided to call for the split because of pot odds. Would love to hear somebodys thoughts on that anyways.
#3 QJs Losing a smallish flip. Still I played it pretty badly, I should not have donked out on that board in that situation, a c/r would have been more effective here if the initial did have an overpair. (I am not really worried about the other two guys) I think if he had an overpair he would have raised my lead here and if I shoved he would have been comitted because the pot was allready pretty bloated since it was 4-ways. So if I want to get the maximum fold-equity here, I think I gotta c/r.
#4 AKs This is how the tournaround started. Pretty nutty hand ;) Notice my interesting flop-sizing.
#5 99 I thought I had made a brilliant check on the turn, as it turned out it would not have made a difference had I bet. But hey, if he wants to play T6 oop against me I am pretty fine with that ...

I then proceeded to win some smaller pots and could finish a few bucks in the black. Like chilled beer for my thirsty soul ....
I am now about to open a chilled beer (seriously) and play another session to conclude may, in which I am up around 170€ or so. Only have been playing around 15 hours, so it's all good. Just lazy and not really focussed that much. Hope I'll continue to have fun playing like I did today.

ich sag ihnen genau was ich hab! dachte: straße ist bei irgendwem ausgeschlossen. ich muss es raisen gegen flushdraw. also minraise. der eine überlegt ewig callt. der rock callt auch nach kurzer denkphase. turn gefiel mir ziemlich gut weil ich keinem wirklich 109 gab. dann stellt der rock sein rest all in. ich denk schon verdammt der hat JJ. ich natürlich call der andere auch. river kommt noch der flush an. ich denk eh schon ich bin weg ncoh dazu weil auch KK mich jetzt schlägt und dann zeigt der rock 99(?!?!?!) WTF???
wenn ichs jetzt seh ist es eine sicke situation. er (der rock initial) kriegt am flop odds 1:6 auf den call. hat gut shot, 3saubere outs. ich denk trotzdem er sollte den flop folden. weil sowas auf dauer nur geld kostet. du hast mich der augenscheinlich ein set hat ;-) und dann einen overcaller (mglws hatte der bottom set?). ich bin jetzt etwas hin und hergerissen. nur im endeffekt laufts darauf hinaus dass er mit einem gut shot für 100bb's spielt. und das find ich nicht zielführend, odds hin oder her. ich würd hier den flop zu 99% folden außer ich weiß die gegner machen viel blödsinn^^
er hat im chat geschrieben, locker leicht: tja deshalb spiel ich noch das limit ;-).....hat aber auch gemeint er kann den flop folden.
aber sagts ihr da draußen was dazu. btw, was ich noch sagen will: ich find seine conti bet auf so einem board auch viel zu hoch. gegen 5 spieler. ich würd den flop entweder gar net conti betten oder viel kleiner. mit der 2€conti bet bindet er dann schon 1/4 des stacks an den pot und mit dem call des minraises ist er eh schon fast committed (50% drin 15€ pot) am turn kriegt er dann an "so guten preis" mit dem double GS kommt er ws nicht mehr raus.

mich freuts. nach 2 tagen break even, gestern und heut 400BB's up :) damit das monat so um die 250€ up

zu schön wenn mal der instinkt 100% stimmt.
zuerst mal ein kleines may recap. es zahlt sich mal wieder aus eins zu machen. dieser monat mein aktivster seit einem Jahr(!) hatte schon ewig keine 20 aktiven tage mehr (eben zuletzt mai 2010) Gewinn ok. wenn man aber mit dezember 10 vergleicht sieht man wie sick es damals war:
da hatte ich nur 13 aktive tage 5.7k hände und ausgezeichnete 317€ +
wobei man hier sagen MUSS dass ich auch viel NL20 gespielt hab ergo kann man das nicht vergleichen ;-) btw. winrate im dezember 38BB/100H !!!

Mai ein Monat wie ich in mir wünsche zumindest bis heute:
9k Hände +214€ davon 40€ beim PLO erbeutet^^

ist ok! roll konnte ich wieder auf 550€ schrauben, nachdem ich ja einiges für den england trip und sonstige investitionen brauchte :)
und wie hier schon mal gesagt im August gehts ja nach new york. da wird dir roll auch noch etwas leiden. da ich aber auch im Juli einen job beim Österreichischen Innenministerium erkämpft hab (YPD challenge) kommt da auch ein bisschen new york geld in die lade und somit wird dir roll geschohnt :)
aja und durch die 20 atkiven tage bin ich auch qualified für ein 2k freeroll auf win2day anfang juni. vlt kann ich da auch, mit etwas skill und glück^^, etwas gewinnen

eigentlich, eigentlich schauts ja total nuts mäßig aus. aber ich war aus unerfindlichen fründen felsenfest davon überzeugt dass er nix hat. stats 80/10 (!) also sehr loose und aggressiver als der durchschnitts w2day'ler auf den kleinsten limits
flop geb ich im manchmal ne 9. öfter aber draws.
turn war eine wunderbare karte für mich. weil: kein draw ankam und aufgrund seiner 10% PFR gab ich ihm schonmal eher nicht 99 weil ich denke dass er das pf oft auch raisen würde. somit bleibt nur 77 (33 schließ ich aus weil quads wären pervers^^) was mich schlägt oder aber er hat eben einen draw. er is loose. also bette ich hoch! als er shoved dacht ich zwar kurz ich bin beat, denn check raise all in am turn schaut einfach stark aus. nur: 33 hab ich ja ausgeschlossen. 99 auch. jetzt bleibt 77. oder aber er hat ein höheres paar slow gespielt. nur hab ich mich gefragt: würde er AA (vor allem AA) oder KK preflop nicht limp re-raisen aus utg? das machen viele....jedefalls kam ich zum schluss dass er entweder 77 hat oder überhaupt nichts.
was noch zu sagen ist. als er den turn checkt war ich 100% sicher ich bin vorn. deshalb die hohe bet um zu protecten. dann krieg ich 1:4,29 auf den call. muss ich also 23/24% gewinnen (grob gesagt) damits profitabel ist. und ja ^^ also ich bin mir ja nicht sicher obs das spielen wird. aber in dem fall war ich mir einfach sicher er hat nix.
aja und als am river der flushdraw ankommt: akuter herzstillstand für ein paar zehntelsekunden :D weil flush draw +paar war ja eigentlich auch noch im bereich des möglichen ^^ also A9s

also habs grad in den equilator eingegeben und wenn ich ihm range. AA,KK,QQ,77, A2s+, K9s,68s gebe bin ich gegen die shoving range klar vorn. und ich denk schon dass bei 80% hände die er spielt ich die alle berücksichtigen kann. ob er denn aber einen flush draw so spielt ist eine andere geschichte :)

Hey guys,
how is it going. I have been playing some poker over the last days, generally mixing NL20 and NL10 SH. I think I will be moving up to NL50 next week, providing things continue to not go so bad. At NL10 I have been experimenting with some kind of laggy style, playing around 28/25, which, given my normal nit-kinda-style, is a major ajustment. In doing so I have also rediscovered my love for the c-bet, as I over the past year have been somone to check back a lot of flops with marginal hands. (I remember some discussions with docwu over this topic : "You gotta bet!" "Why, I am not getting value from anything" "Still, you gotta bet!" "No" "Arrrghhhh") I have been playing so laggy that in fact I did get value from nearly everything in every spot, like 2 bets with 55 on AT3X, getting nearly 20BB from 93s, etc.
Now to the hands. They are quite similar, as they both are HU-pots against nitty regs, in which I manage to get max value (I think) with TPTK.
AJ ---> Pretty easy spot as his range is not balanced. He never has better than AJ there himself, as he would never check a set or 2 pair both on the turn and river. Overpairs are also unlikely, so it's a pretty basic value bet on my part. I did not think I was gonna get called that often, but it did work out this time.
AQ ---> Pretty similar. I like villain's line a lot more in that spot, he just should not have called the river obv. But with a worse Q he is almost allways gonna lose two bets against me there, so I liked the fact that he was betting flop and turn. This gives him the opportunity to be bluffing sometimes with gutshots like T9 or JT. He can also take a strong hand like 2 pair or a set there and donk into me. The river-check is also great since he can give up on his failed bluffs, pretenting to c/f, he can either c/f or c/c with his one-pair-hands (which he did) or he can be c/r with his nutty-hands. Clearly he could also then c/r with his failed gutshots as a bluff. So he has played this hand very well imo in terms of a balanced range, I was not really sure what he was doing there. So it was tough for me to bet the river, but given that I had been playing so laggy I figured he would be more inclined to call me down with his one-pair-hands. Had I been playing a 17/15 style over the last hour, I might have checked behind in that spot.

So I am planning to move up to NL50 again in June. Cross your fingers for me so that it goes well, please. As things are looking right now I will be on the road for 10 days in June, plus univesity obviously will take some time as final exams are waiting and papers want to be wrote, so I will be content if I can get in 10K-15K hands. If I manage to make 1K€ in doing so, I will be very pleased.
I am also very exited for the summer. I was not looking for a odd-job this year, since I figured I could be making just as much and potentially even more doing what I love, playing poker, obv. I was looking for some internships, though, but got rejected by everyone I had turned to. So it looks like I will be "free" in the summer for the first time since I am 16, which really seems a bit weird to be honest. Humans get used to things pretty quickly. So I am planning to be travelling in between Graz and Villach constantly, playing poker as much as I like and as much as seems reasonable. Pretty exited for this "new stage" in my life, I can only hope that it will go well and I don't get burned out/bored with poker or even get too stressed from having to play in order to pay the bills. Will see! Atm I am still very optimistic.

Hey guys, I am gonna present you my favourite music-pieces that treat poker in a way ....

The classical song "the gambler" by Kenny Rogers: Translating poker-principles onto human life might not be the best idea, but there certainly are some elements that are commin in both, poker and life. That is just the thing that the gambler in the song tries to explain to his travel-mate. Critical desicion-making aquired while playing poker can also do you good in life, just as huge life experience is likely to serve your poker game. And while I generally don't think too highly of Kenny Rogers, as I think he is some kind of American Hansi Hinterseer, I do feel like that this song has a lot to offer.

Next song is "winning" by Carlos Santana. Pretty basic message combined with delightful guitar-riffs. We like to be playing, and when we play we like to be winning. Allthough you can not always be on the bright side of things, one day "lady luck" surely will turn your way again.

"Huck's tune" by Bob Dylan is a rather melancholical rhapsody on the downsides of gambling, used in the movie "Lucky You", that I thereby recommend to watch. It is about the great, but immature, poker player Huck(lberry), who tries to make it big in Vegas but cannot get out of the shadow of his father who has allready won the WSOP twice. the movie is espesically delightful since it features guest appearances of many poker-pro's, including Sammy Farha (which will interst docwu in particular, I suppose). The song itself is rather depressing, but of great lyrical quality, as most Dylan-Songs.

zu geil. ich hab ja schon leute gesehen die folden wegen 10c in einem 5€ pot aber das was ich grad zu sehen bekam setzt dem ganzen die altbewerte krone auf = MEGALOL

ein typischer fisch (42/4) bereitete mir zunächst kopfzerbrechen ich foldete meine one pair hand weil es mir komisch vorkam wie er seine hand spielte. mein fold wurde aber später noch "belohnt" weil cih einfach auf eine bessere situtation gewartet hab und prompt belohnt wurde :)

turn fold. ja also hab nur one pair und er kam mir verdächtig vor. ein bluff oder eine hand die ich beate wie QJ machte für mich keinen sinn. schon eher slow gespielte Aces oder Kings oder geflopptes set. ich denk hände die ich beate oder KQ würde er am turn wiederrum checken

jetzt die geilste hand ever. same player. aber ich nicht beteiligt nur lachender zuschauer. sowas lächerliches ist mir noch NIE untergekommen. kriegt odds von 1:20 und folded am river obwohl er denselben mit 4,50€ (!!!!!) bettet und gegner shoved mit 5,31€drüber. er INSTA fold :D :D :D

Hey guys, it's been a while .... Not much going on in my poker-career, therefore the lack of updates. In terms of my moving-up challenge I have easily crushed NL10 and could move up to NL20 in a matter of 10 days. Now I am heading towards NL50 again.

However, generally I am not too exited about poker atm, I play a small amount, I watch HSP every week (Phil Galfond is the sickest!) and played in one 0.1/0.2-homegame last week (down 5€-played pretty badly), but after all I am more into other things. Bascially I am hanging around and studying a ton on campus (for my standards), have been running quite a bit and going out in the evenings much more thant usual. In Spring Graz really rocks. So much you can do, so much to see, so many people around. Once again I find that Graz for me personally is the perfect blend bewteen rural and urban lifestyle. (as I have probably bored you with quite some time before)
Also I have been planning some nice trips for the near future. My trip to St. Petersburg, which is included in my yearly goals, is allready booked and now I am only vaiting for my visa to being approved. Should not be that much of a problem. Next weekend I will probably be spending in Budapest, just to get out a bit and see something new. And I am busy planning a little roadtrip in Italy for July. Should I happen to realize all of those trips and my motivation to grind should not go up, one must fear for my bankroll ;)

In order to bring up my motivation for poker again and fix some leaks that I have I have recently printed out three major books on poker. Two of them focussing on 6max/SH NL holdem and one treating probability, combinatorics and game-theory in poker, but in a rather practical way, so that it can also be understood by non math-geeks like me. I hope to do both, improve my game and bring up my motviation, by doing a little bit of theory-work.

I will free you with an interesting, allthough rather basic hand, that I have played on my way up from NL10. I want to underline the outcome of the hand with a famous quote by Wilhelm Busch: "Man muss mitunter lügen, zuweilen tut man's mit Vergnügen." ;) He just can't call. Hist stats showed that he was rather laggy pre, but he will never call the flop with AK, so he can't have an A, exept maybe when he has AQ, but that is rather unlikely. Since he is laggy pre he can have a lot of Qx's here and I just thought that he could not call. I was right this time. If he happened to have AQ or QQ however, I surely would not have posted that hand. ;)

auf die hand bin ich ehrlich stolz :D (zugegeben viel hab ich nicht dazu tun müssen aber trotzdem *lol*). kriegt mal von einem der tightesten spieler auf w2d hier 140bb und das obwohl er "nur" KK hat. er hat die hand nicht gut gespielt. im wissen wie tight ich bin glaub ich nicht dass er hier am turn broke gehen muss. aber ich glaub einfach er wusste nicht was er tun soll und hat dann einen fehler gemacht wie ich meine.....aber die hand ist halt auch fonti schule (du weißt ws was ich mein) ;-) btw. der hinter mir war ein oberfisch schade dass der am flop nicht bottom pair oder so hatte (das hätte er am flop einmal sicher bezahlt ^^)

kannn nix dazu sagen ^^ spiel wenig omaha und habs hier frei nach sammy farha gespielt^^ AAxx ist auch im omaha immer knapp favorit und ich hab dacht ich komm gegen den drei better allein rein. das der eine sepp all in overcallt war nicht "geplant". was solls klasse flop besserer turn und monsterpot. der spieler der utg foldete hat mich sofort als fisch beschimpft und wollte mich zum HU fordern.....nun ich weiß nicht ob er recht hat weil ich wie gesagt nicht viel tau von omaha hab. aber hier war ich der meinung es ist ok den drei better herauszufordern! .....

200€ to 10.000€ project

Hey guys, here I am coming up with a new plan/idea, that should change my poker life quite a bit. I have been inspired to doing this by good old cardrunners-coach "verneer" reading this post. What I am basically going to do is to cash out my roll, leaving me only 200€ to play, and as time progresses, hopefully grind that up to 10.ooo€ at some point. I am just going to skip the part where he donates the 10K he just made. ;) After all I am still a poor student and have any right to donate to myself, I guess.
So why am I doing this? First of all I have to say that over the past 3 month I have not really been making the best use of my 9K+ bankroll. The majority of my volume came from NL20. I'd say you can play NL20 pretty comfortably with a 1K-roll, so I am somehow wasting out the potential of the other 8K that just dump around in my account without any purpose. Much rather I'd like to invest my previous poker winnings. Most likely I'll put a certain amount into shares of companies that somehow work on alternative energy. Not only is this an area that will likely yield high profits and maximum groth over the next years, it is also something that I truely believe in and want to support. The rest of my money I will probably just put on the good old "Sparbuch". Obviously I'll leave myself some money behind for a few journeys and some planned aquisitions.
How will my new poker project now figure out exactly. As mentioned above I'll start out with 200€ playing NL10 and plan on moving up quite aggressively. That being said I plan starting to play NL20 once I reach 500€ and think about taking shots at NL50 once I reach 1250€. At 4000€ I'll start shotting NL100 and with 10K, should I ever get that far, I would start taking shots at NL200. Why I am moving up that aggressively, you might ask? I think normally I am rather seen as a nit and as someone who is rather carefully with his money/bankroll. But I think I can move up a little bit lighter this time, given that I have been up one time allready. On my way up I could notice that really huge downswings really weren't that common, my biggest one was a little over 5buy-ins I think, so I guess playing on a little lithter roll, allthough it might be a little bit risky, should not be that big of a problem.
Obviously I am going to stick to some sort of "loss-stop" programm, namely if I am losing I will move down to the underneath limit once I pass the statistical median between the amount of money that I started playing with at the current level and the amount that I started the underneath level with. So if I run up my roll to 500, move up NL20, start losing there and pimp down my roll to 350€ I will move down to NL10 and start to rebuild. Hopefully things like that are never going to happen. ;)
So much for that, besides that everything else is pretty much ok, spring is nice, uni's going ok. Looking forward to some days in Carinthia due to easter holidays. Should be fun. Hope you're doing well, all the best.

I guess I'll make it short an simple for now. I hardly did not play any NLH at w2d after my month-half-report, got some hands in at PokerStars and played some PLO and PLO8.

So the winnings don't seem so bad in the first place, but overall I am not very content with how things were going that month. First of all I was predomintely playing NL20 because I hardly played my best in which case I don't really wanna be playing higher. So I always felt like I did not realize my full potential, but could not find a way to improve significantly.
The other thing that bothers me is the volume that I have put into poker. All the game types accross the various sites combined I have put over 90 hours into poker, which I think is too much, espescially given the rather poor results. So I was netting 9€/h, which is nice, but not really the loan I am hoping for if I treat poker not just as a pasttime, but rather try to handle it semi-professionally.
I am pretty sure that my volume will decrease as the semester progresses and uni-related things are going to gain more importance. So far everything is going allright on that front, most things interest me pretty much and for now I am right into things. Also the weather here in Graz has been terrific. I've gotten in some good runs and generelly try to spend my spare time outside. Have got a nice tan allready.
I am also not drinking alcohol since three weeks now in order to prove myself that I can do it. I am not really a big binge-drinker but am used to drinking a beer or a glass of wine (possibly two) up to four times a week in the evenings. The first week was rather tough, obviously I did not have any physical symptoms, but I could feel a strong desire for a beer. ;) Now I am fully used to having water or grapefruit juice and it's really not a big deal. I do even think that I do feel a little bit better overall, allthough my poker-results do not really reflect it.
No intentions for April so far.

miserabel. wie der da mit 99 preflop callt...ich kann natürlich nix machen....

funzte perfekt. wollte am flop mit dem call auch noch einen call vom dritten provozieren, zwar nicht ganz ungefährlich weil das board drawy ist. aber ich geb keinem einen straight draw. wenn dann flush draw. und mein call hat vorteile: wenn am turn kein kreuz kommt, bekomm ich ziemlich sicher den loosen aggro typen rein. und am flop eben noch zusätzliche 1.45€ die der mmn nicht immer nur mit draws callt. sondern vlt auch oft mit AKo - seine stas lassen mich das vermuten. wie es funktionierte genau so wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe.
war mir aber bewusst, dass mein flop play alles oder nix bedeutet. also wenn turn nicht blankt(sprich ein kreuz kommt) dann muss ich aufgeben gegen zwei bzw. wird meine action versiegen.......aber war bereit das risiko einzugehen. wenn man wie ich zu dem zeitpunkt 160bb stuck ist dann muss man auch mal bissl mehr riskieren. aber halt ma den ball flach ;-) gegner hat mit FD max. so 32% und wenn er trifft und ich irgendwie zum river komm hab ich auch noch viele outs also schon kalkuliertes risiko :)

einfach total schlecht. war im tilt. hab parallel KK ghabt und wurde gesuckt für 5€ und zwei hände davor hat mit einer meine aces mit J9 gecracked. dann war ich stocksauer (ganz schlecht beim pokern) und hab tilt geshoved. is hier natürlich ein klarer call lol was schreib ich im medikamenten wahn. natürlich ein klarer FOLD. das beste was mir hier passieren kann is ein flip (wenn er AK hat)....

My winnings so far displayed in the graph above. Playing a blend of NL20 and NL50 SH, FR & HU. Generally not playing my best and running pretty awful at NL50. For that matter results are ok I guess. You have to deduct 47.4€ in tournament-fees (no cash in them as I generally tend to play even worse in tournies and haven proven this once more so far this month) and around 5€ losses in PLO. But you have to 142€ in BBJ-winnings, when I was dealt in at the table and one guy's quads got cracked by a straight flush. So my overall winnings for this month are 625€, which equals a hourly rate of 12€. Bleh!

My volume has been pretty sick, espescially if you consider that I have also gotten in like 7K hands at FTP. I am up around 20$ there, lol, plus around 25$ in rakeback. Naturally I was able to earn some K of FTP-points which I can now spend on some stupid things that I don't even need out of the FTP-store. Good thing!

NL50 is not really kind to me at the moment

Implemented a few NL50 tables in today's evening session and it didn't do me well. Down a bit overall but there was not really anything I could have done differently.

The two major impudences following:

A4s -->>> A pretty brutal beat for a whole stack. But I am so proud of how I played the hand and that I was able to get in villain's whole stack as such a big favourite. I love my line there since it really looked like 66, 77 or something like 54 to him. Thumbs up to me, not pleased with the outcome, though.

88 -->>> 15% on the turn. It will happen sometimes, as you can see here.

In regards to other things, spring is fully underway in Graz and so far I really like it. University should be more fun this semester since my courses are rather refreshing, this semester could prove more fun than the last one. At least I hope so. I am also starting to get into running a bit more, which definitely a good thing. However, my endurance definitely has not fully returned yet and there is still a lot of training ahead of me.

..... since I downloaded about 50 vids from deucescracked yesternight. Will see where they will get me and how they will change my game this time. ;) Not all of them are pure poker-vids though, I also downloaded a complete series of training-vids by Tommy Angelo, where he tackles the more subtle and hidden aspects of this game.
As far as March is going so far, I have dropped down to NL20 after my wild first days, and have played a mix of FR, 5max and HU, which did me pretty well so far. I have also been playing a little bit on FTP and overall my volume has been pretty sick. Overall I am up around ~500€ so far. I might move up to NL50 again soon, so all my winnings might be in jeopardy. ;) Hope that things are going to continue in that fashion, hope you're doing well also, have fun.

very "interesting" March so far thanks to deucescracked

Heys guys, to emphasize what I mean I have to look back a little bit into last year. The graph above displays my results for the first ten days of last November, where I started out pretty well, then wachted a ton of deucescracked-videos by Andrew "balugawhale" Zeidman around the 7th or so and tried to adopt the more laggy style to the games I was playing in. As you can see I completely failed. I did not get the impression that this style does not work in these games at all, but it was rather that I experienced some bad variance and probably did not play the new style perfectly, since I am after all allways much rather on the nittier side of things. I then returned to my "normal" style and still managed to book a nice win for the month.

So here is what happened in the first 2 days of this month:

See something familiar, eh? The good thing about it is that I managed to get in as much volume in two days as it took me 10 back then in November. I feel like I started out pretty well and played a very solid style and could win quite a bit. Naturally you allways make some mistakes, but overall I was very happy with my play. Now then yesterday afternoon I got my full access to all deucescracked-training-vids and started out consuming them. Can you see the results? LOL. Again I was trying to implement some looser elements into my game and see how it did me. But I have to give deucescracked credit, their vids are extremely helpfull, easy to understand and partially also very funny, but somehow on trying to carry out their teachings I allways fail. But I guess this time it was much rather bad variance in general, because a lot of the flips/coolers that I lost would have been standard anyway.

HAND 5 ::: 54 ::: Argh. I just said to myself "I am gonna make him fold his overpair" and this is what I was trying to do here. I think my donk/raise on the flop looked very strong to him, which is confirmed by the fact that he did not move in with his huge draw. So he clearly put me on a set. Obviously, for me that I don't know his hand, he much rather has an overpair there and will likely view my hand as a set/two pair or also a combo-draw like he himself had. So I was thinking of the way to play my hand that it looks the strongest and because of that I choose the relatively small turn bet in order to have a 1/2pot river shove behind. I put him on overpairs much more than on flushdraws, this is why this particular river is a no-brainer-shove therer in my mind, since all the parts of my range that did not have his overpair beat yet have now caught up. This play definitely looks spewy as hell, but there was some method to my madness. I think I will get him to fold overpairs here nearly all the time, plus in that particular spot I was even value-betting on the turn. ;) It is not something that I want to do everyday, but I guess it is important that your opponents also know that you are capeable of some uncharacteristic moves.

HAND 6 ::: AA ::: he normally is a decent reg, but he can also show upwith TT or AK with the K of clubs there, so no way I can fold. pretty speculative pf-call on his part.

HAND 7 ::: JJ ::: here I make a mistake, even though he is a fish he will almost allways show up with a flush there. I probably have 33% against his range, but would need 40% to call profitably. Shame on me!

HAND 8 ::: KK ::: big hand no good

HAND 9 ::: QQ ::: no chance

HAND 10 ::: 22 ::: move goes wrong /// pf-call is highly optional, but the 3bettor rated to have a good hand, a fish was allready in there plus if I call the reg behind me will also likely call. one could definitely make an argument for folding to reduce variance, even more so since there is a fairly big chance I will sometimes get over-setted in a four way pot. Still I decided to call it this time. On the flop I am obv done with the hand if someone bets, but when they all check it things start to get interesting. The pf-aggressor allways has AK there and when the fish checks to me on the turn, there is only the CO to worry about for me. He will very likely have called my pf raise with a pocket pair, so he can have JJ, TT, 55 and 33 that can call my bluff. But he will definitely muck 99, 88, 77, 66 and 44. One could make an argument that he can also show up there with like the AQ, but I know him quite a bit and I think it is very likely that the will throw away AQ there much more often than small pocket pairs, mainly because of reverse implied odds since he will face AK there so often. So I bet 18 into 34, which says I have to win the pot like 35% of the time to show a profit on this bet, which I firmly believe I will accomplish. Just did not work out this time and looks very very spewy, but I actually think that it is a very good play. Once called on the turn I naturally won't bluff the river, since nobody ever folds sets.

Not a good day at all, but what can you do. I guess it will serve for something. Most likely will drop down to NL20 for a while or gamble around a bit on FTP.

a good start to the month

Played my first session today in the afternoon, a second one is about to begin,. Overall I am rather content with the quality of my play, there was only one hand where it feels like I made some kind of mistake.

# 1 AA ---> Pf is super standard, I am delightet that the fish comes in out of the BB, the initial, a good reg, comes along for the ride then, obviously. I was actually amazed by the flop, since I figured I would have the best hand nearly every time. Things get even better when the fish donkbets and the regular calls. I obviously put them on pocket pairs, mostly, ranging from KK to 22. The fish could be in there with a 6, the reg most likely won't show up with one. So the only way the reg has me beat is if he has 66(almost impossible) and 44(also rather unlikely). So when I raise it I am intending to get all in against the fish since I figure he will definitely stack with TT+ and am not really worried about the reg. Once the fish folds and the reg shoves on me, all alarm bells started to ring but I wasn't able to make the hero-fold. In my mind it seemed possible that he would shove KK there also, since he will figure that I will also raise JJ and QQ there so that he is in front of my range with his KK, but I am not sure. It might be the case that he only moves me all in there with 66 and 44, which makes my call pretty horrible. I'd love to hear somebodys opinion on that, though.

#2 AA ---> Very weird hand. I was very causcious (and so correctly) on flop and turn since I had one pair in a multiway pot. On the river I was confident that I had the best hand, but did not think that I would get much value from anything. I still bet it in order to get calls from maybe AT or QJ - type of hands. Don't know what that guy was doing with 55 on the flop, but it ended in a nice win for him. Grats.

#3 AK ---> I think I lost the minimum. Acutally thought we would chop this pot. Meh!

#4 KJs ---> My super-good river-betsizing get rewarded as he thinks that I am block-betting a Queen. Nice play by him though.

random thoughts II and 2011 goals

Hey guys,

I also have something new to say about win2day and poker rooms in general. I have never really put in significant volue on any other site than w2d, maybe 60k hands on FTP and 15k hands on Cake alltogether. Still here and there some hands on random sites, but not really that much. In February I also did some smaller excursion to FTP and Cake for about 8K hands alltogehter, 12-tableling 0.1/0.25 cap games on FTP as previously postet and some NL50SH on Cake. Once again I could find out that w2d is the absoulte best pkerroom for me and this will not change unless I someday manage to reach NL200, where there are hardly any games running at w2d. But for smaller stakes-players the 2,5% rake that w2d offers is just unbeatable, you save just so much in payed rake in comparison to the other sites. Even though Cake offers a very good rakeback deal with 33% according to the dealt method, freqent reload bonusses and other promotions, I still prefer w2d over their site. I have to say with 33% and bonusses one can probably get to the 2,5% rake that w2d deducts, but the dealt-calculation-method just attracts so many nitty grinders that the games get somewhat contaminated, which results in 5 nits sitting at a table with a slightly weaker losing-player and the nits being break-even or slight winners, feeding of the rakeback. At w2d instead you have a much wider variety of players, certainly also a lot of nits and also really good players, but obviously also many weaker players and some total fishes. Naturally the attached casino and online-gambling-lounge of the Casinos Austria do help here quite a bit. So I have once again confirmed for myself that I most likely will be remaining at w2d for some time. I know I write about switching my roll to here and there a lot and then never really do it and return home instead. But my goal as a poker player is not to play on a certain site where it might prestigious to play or where I can compete with good players, my goal is to have fun and in doing so make the most €/h that I can. I just see these requirements perfectly fullfilled at w2d.

Probably you have also noticed that I did not post intentions to start the year. That came mostly because I was not really sure where my poker was going and what I wanted to achieve. I have thought about that now for some time and came to the following conclusions:

I want to shoot my roll over 20K so that I can play NL200. NL200 seems like the magic limit since I have read that once you beat NL200 online you will be able to compete in 25/50 – live games, since the level of play can be compared. So once you can beat NL200 online, you beat ~99% of all NL-Texas-Holdem games in the world. Sure'd be a great feeling to be able to do that.

If I can play NL200 online, I can also play it live. That is what I want to do once my roll is over 10K again. I have found some liking in the Concord Card Casino Graz and their cash-games seem beatable, so I want to establish myself as a regular there and get some more live experience. If my roll should then approach 20K sometime I will start thinking about shots at NL400 in various casinos.

Get a 6-month membership at deucescracked. Don’t hesitate anymore. Just do it. Tommorrow. Even better Today. I'll help me a lot, I am sure.

Review all hands 20BB+ after every session. This is probably the most important thing to grow as a player, without proper self-reflection nobody gets anywhere.

Earn 15K from poker. At the moment I am thinking of playing full-time for at least one month of the summer, probably two. If the rest of the year goes well and I am able to put a lot of volume in during summer, I think 15K to 20K could be possible.

Start getting a little bit more into Omaha. There are some interesting 0.1/0.2 SH games running at w2d all the time that I probably could beat just right now. If I watch some videos and get a HUD for Omaha as well, I hope I will make some quick progress.

Play some tournies online here and there and continue to win money in them. If my time and mood allow it also head out to some smaller tournies to the Alpha or the GPS in Klagenfurt, but take a little bit of distance towards bigger tournies like the one I played in Innsbruck. Even though the buy in and staking were only 1,5% of my roll and it was a great experience that I would never wanna miss, I will avoid such bigger investments until my roll is significantly over 10K.

Start making some videos of me playing poker, post them in this blog or somewhere else. I think it could help me to establish some contacts in the poker community and will also serve as a method of self-refelction.

Go to Ireland.

Go to Saint Petersburg.

Climb the Grimming.

Climb one mountain 3kmeters+.

Don’t drink alcohol or caffeeine for 1,5month during the annual Christian "Fastenzeit", beginning next week. Sigh. (Not because of religious motives, of course, just to prove myself that I am able to resist if I want to.)

february recap and some random thoughts

Hey guys, since nobody is ever updating this blog I figured that I have to do so. It's been a while anyways. After hardly grinding in January I intended to put in some serious volume in February, which I did not really achieve. I guess you can notice that when looking at the graph. Also my winnings were pretty modest compared to the ones in the 2nd half of last year. I won't complain too much though, 'cause any win is better than no win. Also was I switching a lot between NL20/NL50 and couldn't really find my pace at any limit. When things are not running that well I tend to move down in stakes to prevent heavy variance. This tendency I think sometimes prevents me from focussing more and really coming along with my play, but it also has heavy positive effects 'cause I figure it will keep me from moving up in stakes to chase losses. Anyways, my hourely rate for cash-games in February is ~14€/h.
Now to some more positive poker-related-things. I feel like I have made some progress in my tourney-game. Together with docwu I played a bigger live-tourney in Innsbruck in the beginning of the month, where I lost 165€ combined (my buy in and some pieces of docwu - which I decided not to include in my poker-accounting for the month because I did not view it as an investment, but rather as an expense for fun) but learned some important strategies towards the optimal play in bounty-shootout-tournaments. This got me to think a little bit more about tournament-strategy in general. So I played some tournies online and felt my game improving a lot. This is probably also why I am up 30€ in online-tournaments and most likely makes February the first month ever that I have won money from online-tournies after all. Even though this is not a big number, it is a very positive sign in my mind. Despite that I plan on sticking to cash games more, since after all tournements still seem rather retarted to me sometimes.

I also want to pick this moment to ramble around about poker in general. First of all I can't say how pleased I was espescially this month that I have consistantly won money from poker over the last year. I had my heaviest spending month ever: Adding to rent and living costs this month I had to pay for some repairs to my car, the allready mentioned poker-trip to Innsbruck, another trip to Salzburg and last but not least I spent the last week in London (extremely costly city) with friends. If you count it all together I had expenes of about 1.7K€ this month alone. So now, since I am a student my monthly "income" normally is 500€. Never ever would I have been able to stomach such a cost-heavy-month without poker or having a serious job besides my studies. But as you probably know, there are few if any jobs that a student with no finished degree can work part time and get 15€/h, not to speak of the 40€/h-months I have had to end last year. And even though playing online poker is not really the most social thing one can immagine and there certainly are many more things that I could do with my time where I would some money and also serve the community, I guess if I don't really lose touch with the real world poker is quite a suitable option for me. And even though my bankroll has been shrinking a little bit, I was comfortably able to come up for all costs and can now focus on rebuilding in the following, hopefully less expensive, months.

Towards London I can only say WOW! I normally don't like ueber-big cities, but I was immideatly totally turned in the buzz of London. Great friendly people, mild climate, lot's of things to see and even the food, despite all prejudices, was rather delightfull. Not to speak of the variety of awesome beers. Still I think that my future life will not take place in a big city, but rather town with the size of Graz or possibly slightly larger. As I know that docwu will go to London in April I can only wish him a nice trip, which he will probably have. Go for it! And please don't go to Madame Toussads! Everbody, even guidebooks, say it's retarded. Much rather buy 'ya some roastbeef and corned beef and picknick in Hyde Park to offend the noble Britains. Fun guaranteed! If you also add some bottles of beer to your meal like I did you are eligible fore some very nasty looks and a good chunck of loutishness. Good times!
But this trip has also shown me as to where I should invest my former and hopefully future poker winnings. Overall I think that it is always great to have some money on the side and am very interested in investing in sustainable projects, so I try not to spend to much. My biggest issue is probably food, since I like to eat a lot and also prefer to buy rather expensive high quality/organic- stuff. (Like with you car, you only wanna give your body premium fuel, right?) But other than that, and my car of course, there aren't too many things I spend a lot of money on. It is not really important to me to be dressed up ueber-nicely (exensively) or too wear a branded watch. These things are transitory, even though they probably remain valid for a lifetime, they won't really shape your character. Travelling probably will. A watch for instance is a piece of processed metal with a brand on it. The price of it does not really reflect the effort that went into it. I am not saying that a Rolex is not "better" or produced with more effort than a 5€-watch from "Hofer". I don't know what the average Rolex costs, but probably around 5K€. So I am only saying that while the Rolex costs 1000-times more than the cheaper watch it certainly is not 1000 times more usefull. The mechnisms that works behind both will be rather similar, of cours with the Rolex being a lot more reliable, sutainalbe, plus it also counts as an investment. But you are really paying for is the brand. So if I decided to just drop my roll and buy a Rolex instead, I would probably do so in order to make myself more interesting, to "show what I have got". I might be wrong though and the people who buy these expensive watches do so because of other reasons that I don't know. In short, I am saying that I will still still try to save some money and continue on working to bring up my roll, but I have also decided to "invest" some of it in experinces, 'cause I figure that is the only thing that will enrich my life long-term, plus it can't be taken from me (exepet in cause of amnesia). So I am rather sure (89,3%) to visit my ladyfriend Bianca who is in Saint Petersburg for an exchange-semester. Further I am more motivated than ever to push through my long planned trip to Ireland. Also Germany is calling for me since I long time and maybe I'll start listening soon. Will see. Hopefully I will also win a little bit from poker this year, otherwise my roll will prolly be shrunk by the end of it. Hopefully not, though.
I will let you guys go now for a few hours, then will conclude my steam of consciousness about random things.

rakebackgrinding at FTP

Figured I needed some change, so I put up 500 bucks to FTP and began 12-tabeling 10c/25c with shallow stacks, which means the max buy in is 10$, or 40BB effectively. I choose this format because it can be multiabled pretty easily since the desiscions you will face will not be that difficoult. Make a good top pair or better and stick it in against the donkeys. There can be found some of them, but in gernal the games are filled with regs. After 5 hours of play and approximately 5K hands I am somewhat breaking even, which implies to me that these games can not really be beat. I was playing rather well, got some bad beats but also did suck out quite a few times, so I guess my EV is pretty neutral. It is just really a weird game since you have to be getting in so many hands so often (TT+, AK for preflop), all good pairs postflop, so that the rake just kills you. I did some research among the regs of this format at pokertableratings.com and noone of them is a winner in that game. The highest winrate I could find was 0.13BB/100, which at NL25 is like nothing. You might be able to make ~7$ in rakeback, though. Delighed to receive my portion of that cake next weak.
Overall I would say it is not a very sustainable game format and also not very thrilling in the long run, since it lacks the creativity of normal cash games.

AA --->>> Villain is prolly the best reg at NL20, allthough he is playing this stake since one year now. No clue why he does not move up. Here I totally trick him, though, when I taint my range into looking saturated with semi-bluffs and he tries to make the hero-call. Bad outcome, though. Still proud of how I played the hand.

JJ --->>> Looks a bit like a loose shove, but I was in tune with villains tendencies and got it in pretty well. Can't win'em all, I guess.

K8 --->>> Looks spewy as well, but it was HU and villain's play was very, very questionable in general. I 3bet here to mix up my range and remain unpredictable and against him I flop the nuts. I tried to induce some bluffs on the turn/river since he was not only likely to pay off, but also bluffed a lot. He had it this time, though. No way I could have gotten away from tp against this player in that spot.

Hey guys, it's been a while. After a pretty modest January, (3k hands, some sng's, one tourney / pretty much breaking even), I plan on hitting the felt much more in February. So far I have only gotten in 3k hands due to some other events (one of them being a trip to a poker-tournament in Innsbruck with docwu, wich was great fun, allthough it did not pay for itself financially). Also, my results on the cash-tables have been pretty modest. I have been running not so well plus I play terribly. I tilt much too easily and call too much on the river when I am beat. This is probably because I have not been working out over the last 3 month and I usually when I am lacking pysical exercise my mind starts windling down a bit as well. Also, my hair is much too long and I am beginning to start looking like a hippy, which is never a healthy proposition for sucess on the poker tables.
Further university was not much fun this semester and my results have been so-so at best, allthough not truely terrible. And if that were not enough my car is is fucked up, it seems, that being the reason why it was not accepted for another year of authorization. So I need to get some repairs done, which is clearly -EV and pisses me off pretty hard.
So as you can see things are not really working out that much, but I am not giving up yet. ;)

Now to some hands from the last sessions. Feedback desired, as allways.

#1 KQs --> What looks like a super good spot on the flop turns to a nightmare on the turn when he catches the one card that will assure his payoff. I was causcious though, since he is a really good player and I was not expecting to get much value from worse hands, plus we were deep. So I was acutally c/f the river, but he gave me such a good price. Still I should have folded, since he is never doing that with the Q-high flush. So you see, I am not on top of my game. On a good day I can pass there.

#2 KQs --> KQs was not really kind to me. Such an idiotic spot. I briefly considered checking behind the turn since I figured I would not get value from anything worse. But I just figured that my hand was too strong to check and I had to protect against JT. When he shoves on me I am almost sure that I am behind (he could be moving with JT of clubs, thought), but I have so much invested that I have to call. (If he only has 88 there obviously it is a fold, but he might show up with KQ also or be moving with JT, QJ of clubs type-of-hands, so I think it is a clear call and therefore a cooler) I might be wrong, though.

#3 AJs --> I call, therefore I am. One of the worst calls in a long time. Flop check is not bad, I think. I am either way ahead or way behind, I would still bet 70% of the time here since it is a multiway pot. This time I decided to check it. Turn call --- standard. River call --- fucking horrible. When he bets it so big there it is totally clear what he is doing, he allways has me beat there, sometimes an 8, most likely a FH allready since he slowplayed it so hard. I knew it right there, still I made the call because I am a donkey.

#4 AJs --> I CALL!

#5 A4s --> One time one thing does actually work out. Here I make use of the Zeebo-theorem. Nobody is ever capebale of folding a full house. True!

bin grad sehr sehr happy. nach eine zwangsweisen auferlegten pokerpause von knapp einer woche, mein spiel war leider ins f-game abgerutscht^^, funktioniert es wieder......

hab eine top session gespielt. den vlt besten call meiner pokerkarriere inbegriffen. auch wenn die hand dann nur ein split pot war. aber wenn ich folde bin ich 10€ -. und nur wegen dem river ein split pot........

schlechte hände hab ich diesmal keine. bzw, ja vlt kann man an den guten bei einer was aussetzen aber es ist keine total miese hand dabei ;-)

in dem moment als ich auffüllte fragte ich mich: warum füllt man mit 54o im sb eigentlich auf. naja als der flop kam wusste ich bescheid und als auch noch ein fisch bereit war mit bottom twopair, wie er es leicht verärgert ausdrückte, mir seinen stack zu präsentieren verstand ich natürlich völlig warum man 54o auffüllt :D

hier kann man kritik üben. immerhin hab ich am river fast noch 50bb's. ich denke nicht dass hier ein shove standard ist (auch wenn der pot schon so groß ist). ich sollt eher oft behind checken. weil ich von nicht mehr viel schlechterem gecallt werde. aber ich hatte heute auch das glück, dass die fische es meistens schafften mich zu überraschen. ^^ womit callt er da. irgendein weak King den er überspielt hat.......

das war die vorbereitung auf den guten call ein paar hände später auf NL 20 gegen den gleichen gegner. er hatte eigentlich megatighte stats. aber hier bluffte er dreimal (wenn er river da folded hatte er deffo nur air) naja das hat ihn ziemlich sicher verärgert^^

ist mmn der größte call den ich bisher gmacht hab. ich hatte es total gespürt dass er hier "blufft". und hier ein A zu shoven ist mmn ein klarer versuch den pot zu stehlen. aber ich hab ihn nicht gelassen^^ wichtiger call. die hand is sonst 10- so 3+. ich hab mich sehr gefreut. schade um den river. wenns nicht pairt und keine 10 kommt gwinn ich alles.

da hab ich wieder mal einen spezialisten erwischt. turn karte= gut für mich. für mich war es kein thema hier zu checken, da ich die turn karte sehr mochte. ich dachte shove ist das beste da er mit nichts callen kann was kein two pair oder set ist. ja so kann man sich irren. also shove ich um den pot hier zu gewinnen, was mmn sehr häufig geschehen wird........

yesterday evening I was invited to a party of my good friend Nina. she celebrated her birthday. afterwards I had an invitation to a "men's eve round" of poker, .. brought up by Christof & Johannes (nice idea of course, but I knew what waited for me).

they started around 9PM and I joined at midnight .. table was full then .. me in MP, mr. Christof directly to my right shoulder, ... only big names and well known crazyness at the table .. the creme de la creme of jps cash game poker ... and the table was full of chips .. heavy load of approx. 3-5k (maybe more and after all the rebuys taken during my stay it got bigger and bigger) .. most players with minimum 400-500 infront of them .. some with 800-1000 ... and it was such a sick action.

so I bought in with 200. the game was dealers choice with blinds of 1/2, straddle possible .. table decided to play one round texas and one round omaha pot limit, change was always on Christof next to me. so here we go .. first hand .. texas and I'm in early position, think UTG+2 I remember) and I look at 64 suited in hearts, call 2 euros. I think it was raised somewhere in MP or button and I called that raise to .. think for something like 10 or 11, maybe even 13 .. hey first hand lol :D .. flop gave me a flush draw and I called the bet of the raiser, so did Chris to my right. turn gave me a little OESD with my 6 (987 on the board) added to my flush draw. only thing I remember (can't re-play the action on the turn) is that we all three were all-in on that card :D .. first hand 200 buy-in all in lol :P .. river was a blank for me, no straight, no flush .. and I even don't know who won the pot and with what :D. Ok sick start, and maybe not the best play ... not maybe, .. for sure! rebuy for 100 .. next rebuy was to follow after some more time .. next rebuy for 100 .. in the end and after some beats, terrible hands and bad beats en masse, also some crazy hands or better said bad luck situations, I was down some 400. In total I then was playing with 500 on the table ... and with my last 100 I got the comeback! Patience was the main thing you needed here ... and of course some luck too! Without luck --> no win on such a crazy table. I fought back and won a pot of 440 or so. Really big pots were the normal standard this night. When I had about 460 or 475 I lost nearly 200 in a big pot against Joe, were I had top set on the flop .. was in PLO and I flopped a set of sixes on a 236 flop, he raised preflop .. bet 75 on the flop, I raised to 200 .. his all-in and he called .. he held AA45 and made the nuts straight :P .. I had to draw for poker or full house, .. both didn't come. so again .. fighting back started because I wanted to get out break-even or with a plus, how much was not important :D .. that moment I was down some 250-270 or so I think. the hand of the evening was one of the last ones then: In the meantime, after 2 or 3 players left the table, broke or cashed out, we changed to dealers choice, .. so everyone on the button decided the game. this time we were on omaha and I was dealt KK22 which of course I gonna play. there was a raise which I called, don't know exactly. it was a three-way-pot and the flop came down QJx (maybe a 4 or 6) .. bet, call, call, .. turn .. BAAAMMM - a 2, .. ok not sure I'm in front here, anyone could have a better set right .. again bet from my right, call, and call from Joe after me. River .. it's magic right ... the remaining 2 .. poker :D .. and also HIGH HAND as poker 2, 5, 9 and J is on the high hand ranking (and we already had 9s and Js this evening lol) .. it was checked to me this time (or was there a bet, no I don't think so) and I bet 100 (after a short moment of thinking, .. I did well here and stayed cool too) Joe quick called this one after a good look at the board and then, to my surprise the aggressor did so too .. 200 more on the river which gave me the nuts :D yeah .. ok show down .. and I announced my high hand .. I don't know what they both had .. but I (with just 100 or 130 left behind in front of me) made a pot of over 400 bucks (together with 100 for the high hand) and suddenly had 598 (and gave 10 for the dealer on this nice hand haha) infront of my body :D .. PLUS :D yeah. I decided to play some more hands .. Joe was off soon, as he already was broke some times and always came back in anger .. this time he was gone some hands later .. two others too, two big stacks also cashing out .. just 4 left, .. and I made it seat open wit 585 in total .. which means a plus of 85 bucks after being down 400 or better said playing with 500 deep in the mud :D .. I was so happy to make it and noted one thing to myself: Never again! :D .. ok not never again, .. I may play this sort of crazy table once again, but not so soon ... and hopefully not with that action (but as I said, I knew what waited and I knew I have to go some risk and invest money to get some back .. that's the normal rule on this table of doom and crazyness .. you need to bring some money to win .. and I know what doc and fonti will say about this evening .. to say it in austrian-german: "du bist ja nimma ganz dicht" bzw. "sag amol bist deppat:D haha .. and maybe they are right. (I hope to get comments, or just lets talk about it!)

this mega thrilling evening/night and the biggest cash game I ever took part in (in terms of money on the table and pot sizes, action etc.) ended at 3.30 in the morning and I was happy to fall into my bed around 4AM with the knowledge I've beaten crazyness :D

No big review today, no hands ... don't even think I would have any interesting ones. Just an update, .. 3rd live tourney in 6 days, .. 5-euro rebuy - invested about 40 oder 45 I think (addon also included) and made 3rd place out of 17 oder 18 players (3 ITM, so it was the minimum I could do .. and brought me a plus of approx. 40 Euro) .. afterwards we played some cashgame .. just NL200 (texas, blinds 1/2) and I had a good evening there too .. making a profit of 135 Euro .. means evening was a success .. not so fine thing was, that most of my profit came from my two buddies karli & tobi .. flush over flush and jacks against AQ .. :)

so I'm running hot .. but now gonna take a break for about 1 1/2 weeks .. not much time for poker these days then.

First of all thanks for the answer on my last post. Think I have to agree with you fonti and of course docwu does too. Thx!

This time I have a not so well documented hand from my last live tourney on saturday. I was sitting in the SB with blinds of 600/300 and about 16 or 17 players left, which means we were 7- or 8-handed. It's folded around to me and I'm facing just the BB behind me. She, a well-known lady and quite tight player, was the short stack at the table but I didn't have a look on her stack to see her exact stack size.

I picked up my cards and looked at T8o, a hand I normally like to play (same with J9), .. so I quickly decided to put some pressure on our shortstack in the BB and raised to 1500 (to me a normal raise). She looked into her cards and went into a short tank - and then pushed all in for 3500 total. So there I was, so far no bluffs, solid play .. always big hands on showdowns and first time I make a move it went a bit wrong.

So I had to decide. My thoughts were the following: I had to bring in 2000 more to win a pot of 7000 total. I had the chance to bust a shortie and get closer to the final table. I gave her a semi-good hand as she wasn't so happy about her push (just felt like this from her expression and acting) .. maybe I ran against AT or AJ, .. KJ or KT .. maybe a little pair .. I didn't know. So there were some outs. Funny thing was I started talking to the whole table, telling them this one went wrong on my first bluff and I have T8 :D ... and then I decided to say "ok, gambling .. a little present for you" and called for 2000 more. She flipped over QT and I was way behind .. ok, a real present! (btw I think I had about 15 or 16k this moment, can't remember exactly).

To make a long story short, board ran out blank until the river .. where I hit an 8 and sucked out a lot .. no draws on the board, just had 3 outs :P

Just wanna know your thoughts .. was it a good move, decision to raise against the shortie from the SB - and was it a good/bad call then?

I'm starting a new series on this blog - something like a "Hand of the Day" category. Wanna post some of my online (and maybe also offline hands as far as I can document them) for analyzing them afterwards.

First hand in this new category is the following:

1st hand of the day

it's just fresh out a tournament that I'm still in, tonight's 10 Euro 'Primetime' at win2day (position 20/135 atm and still hoping to do well in the end) and after I won this hand I was insulted by the villain .. he said something like only an inhabitant of former region on the southern balkans would call a raise with 58 .. :D lol

my opinion: I'm in the BB and facing a min-raise which probably any previous limper would call .. so no question I call this one with suited gap connectors .. in my opinion great cards here and I was lucky .. good for me he wasn't able to throw away or didn't believe me ;)

So stay tuned for more, .. would be happy about any comments on my new idea, thx!

ps: actually also railing our champ Matthias Habernig at PCA Main Event Day 1B .. seated table 69, seat 7 and had about 28k at the first break (starting stack 30k) .. wish him best of luck!

1st live tourney 2011 .. ship it baby

Played my first live tournament of the new year 2011 tonight. It was the monthly 10 euro rebuy tournament at JPS Cardroom, held every 1st friday each month. this time the buy-in was 20 Euro (rake included) and rebuys were possible for 10 (1.5k chips) or 20 (3k chips) during the first three levels until the break. starting stack 1.5k chips.

Poor thing was the small field of only 27 players but they created a price pool close to 1200 Euro, so it was ok .. first three in the money. I had to rebuy once for 10 and after I was down again, I made one more double rebuy for 20 and at the break I took the double addon for 20 .. so I spent 70 Euros in total. After the break it was in freezeout mode and after some two rounds at my table I had a run and quickly moved up in chips and suddenly was the chip leader .. dominating, raising, having good hands of course and also took some players out of the tournament. In the end I reach the final table and played quite good there too ... think this was my A-Game tonight .. maybe not top level, but ok ... good enough to reach the last 4 were I was short and when the blinds reached 6k/3k I moved all in with my rest of 31k from the SB and got a call from a pair of fives in the BB .. board ran out with AK3KA so my kicker 7 won the pot :D .. and I doubled up .. suddenly was 2nd in chips. Next hand we discussed I chop as the blinds were just too high for a little number of chips (no one had over 15-20BBs) .. and we decided to make a deal for chip numbers .. first one had about 100k or a bit more, I had 72k, the others around 55-65k .. so we chopped the pot .. first got 460€, myself got 330 and the two others 230 and 180 .. we all gave 10 for the dealer crew and so I was fine with winning 320 .. make a plus of 250. We decided to play some little cash game with just one blind (1€ BB) afterwards, but I was already very tired so I just bought in with 50 bucks and wanted to leave soon ... made a profit of 15€ there, -5€ for my drinks of the evening .. brings me back to the total of 330 (+260) in winnings for this evening.

Quite a good start into the new year .. very similar start to 2010 .. hopefully it's holding on :) ... maybe I gonna play the 30€ freezeout tomorrow .. looks like I should play at the moment.

und seht mal welche "draws" ich dann traf :D naja schon ein seltener glücksfall mit fish faktor (damit mein ich den gegner) :D

amendment to the 2010 recap

Hey guys, did some "research" in PT and came up with some interesting findings reffering to last year.

Here for instance you can see my profits split up by the position I make them in. I did never view this function during the year, but in only confirms what I have suspected anyways. I win in position and lose money in the blinds, obv. However, I find it fascinating how well this function can show just HOW important position really is. I mean, if you make 50% of your yearly profit on the button it really tells you should be using position even more.

Here is a list of my biggest "sponsors". Some names is was expecting to see up there, by some I was a bit surprised. This is probably because the stat is a bet tricky, since it does not point out the exact amount won/lost against another player, but rather the amound won/lost in pots where the other player was in the hand also. So if I play on a FR table with docwu and we both call a raise with a PP, I flop a set, docwu gets out on the flop and I happen to stack a donkey, the amount I have won also gets shown in realation to docwu, which is absolute rubbish, of course. But anyways, I guess the function does show some simple tendencies and is quite fun to use. Speaking of docwu, according to my tracked hands I am up like 8€ on you for this year. Hahahahaha. ;)

Accounting for the rake: I have paid 2600€ in form of cash-game rake to w2d this year. Probably like 200€ more in form of MTT and SNG entry-fees.

I have won almost 4000€ with AA alone and 2000€ with KK. Pretty fascinating. I have made small profits with any pocket pair exept 66. ??? I don't really know why that is, variance I guess, even though it surprises me to see that much variance over 150k hands. And I have made profits with almost every suited connectors and every suited one-gapper.

And to conclude the recap here my hand of the year for you. I guess you guys allready know it, it is the hand of the month October, where I call 80BB on the river with K high. Not only is calling 80BB with K high and being right about it epic enough, the great thing about it was that the hand played against a very good player who had just constantly owned me before, so it was very satisfiying to outplay him one time. (I had a timing tell on him on the turn.)

So this was it with 2010, now I am gonna focus on 2011 again and making it as good a year as 2010, or hopefully even better. Thx for reading.

That was 2010 for me, pokerwise, shown graphically. ;)

I guess no further explanation is required, the graph says it all. ;) Started in the first days of January with a 100€ roll and played it up to 10K€, which is far more than I initially expected to achieve. Started out with NL10 on w2d obv, played there in January and February, netting around 300€ each month. Then I went on a little excursion to FTP in March and April, where I played some NL10 to clear a bonus. Also played some rush poker there, which was rather funny. Further I experimented with "multitabling", which meant for me to play 12tables of FR at one time, allthough this does not qualify as multitabling for the "real" multitablers in poker that play up to 24 SH-tables. Anyways, I withdrew my roll from FTP in the last days of April and cashed it in on w2d again. At this point my roll was a little over 1K€ and with 50BI's I decided to move up to NL20. But since the NL20FR tables on w2d only run sporadically I decided to make the transition to SH play, which on w2d means 5max. In the beginning I had some problems to adjust to the more aggressive nature of the shorthanded games. Coming from FR I was for instance used to limp small pocket pairs preflop or being hardly ever 3bet, which of course does not apply to 5max-games. If I remember well I did not even fix those leaks in the first months of playing, kept limping in with marginal hands, 3et to little etc etc. But despite all the mistakes I have made I was winning from the first day on, mainly because some of the other regs did not play much better than I did and the "fish-density" is rather high of course. I also had my first 3-figure day in March which was an epic experience for me and filled me with great motivation. As time went by I began to adjust better to the SH-games. Nowadays I don't limp in SH-games anymore and generally have gotten much more agressive. My winrate however did not change much, it was around 10€/h when I first started playing NL20 and went up to around 14€/h once I had adjusted my style. So a little improvement there, but certainly not a dramatic one.
With the beginning of September my roll had passed 2,5K€, that is why I moved up to NL50. I decided to switch back to FR again, since there was enough action, the games were softer and FR generally fits more to my approach to the game. So there I was, crushing the games from the first day on. Since the 1st of september I have sustained a great winrate at NL50, netting me ~40€/h playing FR, SH and HU combined. Approximately the same hourely rate is valid for the some NL100-shots that I have taken. The most hands and best winrate have come from FR-games at both limits though.
Further I have played some, allthough not very many, MTT's. My goal coming into 2010 was to win one of those. I feel like I could not have been more off on that goal. I mean, I don't exactly keep track of my MTT results since I don't play to many, also since playing NL50 the tournies that I buy into recreationally have such a little buy-in that the money does not really bother me, but it bothers me that I think I did not even cash in a single one. Maybe there were 1-or 2 small cahes, but certainly nothing remarkable. My estimation is that I have played like 40 MTT's, so my results are really, really bad. I am a true tourney-sucker. My combined expenses for all MTT's should be around ~300-350€.
Luckily I have won that amount and a little more playing SNG's ocasionally, which I, to my surprise, am crushing pretty hard.

ich bin einfach der größte sucker der rumläuft.....aber ich dacht der große stack mucked fix. und gegen den kleinen geh ich broke der is mir wurst^^ bin mir sicher ich war am flop gegen beide hinten vlt sogar noch am turn gegen den größen stack, wobei der am turn eh alles callen muss also is nicht gesagt dass er mich beat hatte, weil er war halt doch ein fish (69 vp€ip und so)

first day of play in 2011

Started out with some NL50 on w2d, 3 hours of playtime, results are fairly well. Will most likely tranfer my roll to paradise poker or poker heaven in course of January ot play NL100 there, since the NL100-action at w2d is both, rather tough and not very frequent. But more about this in my 2010 recap / 2011 outlook that I will write once I have time/muse.
Here are some interesting hands:

#1 JJ --> A real baller-hand to start the month/year. I like to think that this is one of the best hands I have played in the last weeks, showing that I not always play a nitty abc-style but am capeable of some uncaracteristic moves also. Pf I can call or raise, since villain is fairly nitty and plays 8 tables of 5max I'd say I like to flat call here around 50% of the time, even though it is a blind-battle. He will never stack off with anything worse and generally play very well against my 3bet. I could raise the flop, but then again I can argue with a similar logic like pf. On the turn things turn interesting. I briefly considered folding, espesically because he bet like 4/5 pot, which signed strenght to me. I figured he'd still bet TT and 99 and potentially some drawing hands though, so I ended up calling. Once he bet the river I knew I was no good. He had AA, KK or AQ. But he bet rather smallish, leaving him with half of his stack und enough room to be folding, I figured. He knows I am rather on the tight side and normally don't spew around too much, so my image was perfect to make a move here. I can rep a flush, even though it should be hard for me to call with a draw on the turn, but I figured he must feel that I might have something like the 65 of clubs or the T9 of clubs for a combo draw. Turned out exactly as I expected and I guess it was a really good play.

#2 QQ --> Devastating river card, huge fold. Don't know. Villain was fairly unknown to me, only 100 hands tracked, played 3 tables and seemed rather reasonable. I was planning on c/c the river, since I figured he would bet some worse hands (77, 88), but when he pots it I don't think I can call. Not only might he have rivered a flush, also a T9 still seems reasonable and even a rivered set of aces might bet that big. My key problem was that I have shown so much strenght in course of the hand that I thought it was unlikely he would try to bluff me or valuebet lightly. But I am open to some suggestions here. What do you guys think of b/f that river. It was my first instinct but I talked myself out of it, figuring that a good player will not call me with anything worse once that card hits the river. Agreed?

#3 77 --> Villain is so thight that he can only have TT or 22 here, honestly. I knew it was likely he had TT here since I knew he does not raise that hand in that position pf. So I played my set weirdly in order to get some of the fish's money into the pot and assure that my main villain will even stack his 222 once he has it there. Oh well, he had the TT this time, I don't know, maybe I can even think about folding on the turn to turn down my variance. I confirm it once again, he never has KT here, he has TT and 22 precisely (maybe he even folds 22 sometimes pf which would make my stackoff bad) and can sometimes probably hold KK in that spot, too.

#4 Q8s --> Haha, I just sucked out ... Big time. Pf it is a good squeezing spot, since the initial is a good player and opens fairly wide. Also, we're both nearly 200BB deep, which, in the case that he will flat call my 3bet, leaves me with fairly deep stacks and a hand that plays well under these circumstances. Once everybody folds and the fishy SB calls my squeeze I am not really worried at all. He has like 1,3 pot sized bets left and I plan on just shoving most flops if checked to. I happen to hit a really good flop for my hand, but he just shoves it in. Very very weird. I think he is probably capeable of calling 33 and 44 pf there, but I did never think that he would just shove with such a nutsy hand. I thought it was much more likely he'd do this with something like 88-JJ, hands that were likely to be best but had to fear that they could be outdrawn, or possibly with a flushraw. The main point is that he tried to sell strenght in such an immense way that I just could not believe he was really that strong. So played it well postflop, although I hate his pf-call. I happen to bink my 6%-chance one time and get 'rewarded' for my really bad call. He took it like a gentlemen and instantly left without one bad word.

hier nur die lol hand des tages

momentan heißt es bei w2d wirklich alles muss raus. und zwar das weihnachtsgeld von manchen spielern. was der typ hier aufführt ist einzigartig. allein sein pf call ist schon sehr delikat (wohlgemerkt er callt eine 3-bet aus der schlechtestn pos.). und dann shoved er den turn als wärs eine selbstverständlichkeit, hat er doch mächtiges top pair mit unschlagbarem kicker :D
ich hab das ganze snap gecallt.
ich wusste er würde er niemals, niemals eine nut-artige hand hier in mich shoven. ich bin mir zu 100% sicher er (dieser bestimmte gegner) würde den turn mit einer top-hand check raisen. bzw. seinen stack per check raise all in stellen......

Hey guys, happy new year to all (potential) readers, hope you're doing fine. Just to remain loyal I'll post my results for the month of December. In the first place I thought I would not get much volume in this month, due to Christmas-stress and a science-project, but my estimation turned out to be fairly wrong. Got in 9k hands on the first weekend of December alone, netting like 1,4k€ in 17 hours, which was an epic feeling and opened up new possibilities for me, showing me what I can potentialy achieve in poker if I work hard and stick to it. (and run good, obviously) Also the rest of the month went fairly good. I was up 3,3k at one point, unfortunately I returned home to my parents house on the 20th and since then nothing would work out pokerwise, resulting in a little loss of my preceding profits. Not a big deal, though.

Deducting MTT-buy-ins (no cash, obv) and adding SNG-winnings my month is still very close to 3k, making it my best month ever by a fair bit. So I am very confident with the results. I have also won the biggest pots of my career so far, one being worth nearly 400€. This is mainly because I have shot my roll over the 10k mark and therefore am ready to move up to NL100, where, O Wonder!, the pots tend to be bigger than at NL50.
Now here is my hand of the month for you, hope you enjoy it. I've started to mix up my ranges against the regulars, trying to implement bluffs in both, my 3- and 4- betting ranges. This is what I do here. 95s might not be the ideal hand to do it though, since I normally prefer hands that have both, some showdown-value and blockers (most importantly), like the Axo or Kxs - type- hands, but in that case I just felt like pumping it up. One more thing, we were deep obviously, and when being deep it is generally a good idea to be 3-betting suited connectos against good players for deception. While 95 is not really what I would call a 'connector', it comes close to this description and is capeable of flopping big hands. So now the fish overcalls out of the blings, which I don't like, and then the initial also calls, obviously. I miss pretty hard, still I thought it was a good spot to c-bet since me betting vs. the fish and one reg looks super strong, there is also a decent chance that both villains will have missed that flop. I don't think either one of them can call me with a small pair here, 'mobale' definitely does not have AA or KK here since he would have 4-bet pre. So the only hands that can really raise me on that board are sets and I will get a lot of folds, so I opted to bet. Fish folds, which is nice, regular calls. His range looks like the following to me: JJ, QQ, 99, Txs, 97s, J9s and slowplayed sets. I am pretty much done with the hand at this point. The Q of spades on the turn is probably the best card in the deck for me. Still I think it is a very close descicion. I mean, I a have just picked up tremendous backdoor-equity and my first thought is like BET BET BET!, on the other hand some parts of his range have just caught up dramitically and will c/r all in. So it was close between betting and checking behind. I opted to do the first thing, figuring that he will have to fold more often than he will shove over my bet. I made the bet small enough so that I would not be pot-commited if he decided to do just that. To my surprise he did not to one of the two things I had assigned him to do, weirdly he just called. I was like 100% sure he would not do this with a strong hand, every 2pair or better will definitely move in on the turn. So once the checks to me on the river I was not thinking all that much, he just could not have it! My problem was more that if I moved in on that A I was not repping a lot either, still I decided to do it. Even though my hand was kind of a mystery, I just did not think that he would be calling with a hand like JJ or KT. Even if he has AT here he will probably have to fold, since I don't valuebet worse. So if he calls the AT he should also call the JJ, basically. I mean, I can rep a flopped set, QQ, AA and AQ, which I think is enough to give him some idea of strenght. He insta-mucked, thankfully.

flop play von mir suboptimal (denk ich). aber ich habs draufankommen lassen.....normalerweise spiel ich sowas nicht slow in einem multiwaypot. aber die tatsachen dass ich auf fast alle gegner pos hatte und dass ich eben den straight-flush draw hatte, führten dazu dass ich es drauf ankommen lassen wollte......
ernsthaft glaubte ich auch nicht dass einer der gegner hier ein geflopptes two pair slow spielen würde!
am turn war ich mir dann aber nicht mehr so sicher. aber ich wollte die hand nicht aufgeben. der river war wunderbar. leider checkte spieler 1 zu mir. ich wusste nicht was ich machen sollte^^ noch dazu wars ein turbo tisch, ich überlegte kurz und war nicht sicher: shove, kleine value bet oder normale große bet. ich entschied mich für die kleine value bet und erhoffte mir ein raise von spieler 2 der ja am turn sehr aggro war.
und dann callt mich ausgerechnet gegner 1 dem ich nur die 10 gab.......naja ich kannte mich nicht wirklich aus dazu noch der zeitdruck. bin aber zufrieden mit dem outcome! immerhin 55bb's gewonnen, das passiert nicht oft mit einer solchen made-hand

vorne weg mal: ich wünsch allen die das lesen einen guten rutsch ins neue jahr !!!!!

ich hab grad eben noch eine session gezockt :) ganze 72 hände dann war ich bei 31€ plus und da sagte ich mir, es ist ein perfekter abschluss des jahres also schloss ich daraufhin die tische wieder :)
und der fantastische dezember fand somit auch seinen würdigen abschluss..
und meine set jagd hatte ein ende!!! die letzten 3 sessions gefühlte 500 pocket pairs aber kein set. heute 4 pocketpairs und 3 sets :D
und 2 waren sehr ertragreich :):

ist mmn einfach sehr standard gespielt. gegner halt wieder mit zuviel weihnachtsgeld. ich glaub nämlich er hat mich da mit einer 10 ausgezahlt :) als er den turn pottet hab ich schon gewusst: er denkt er ist stark. ^^ daraufhin eben das check-raise und der river shove. hat perfekt geklappt.

die hand war auch standard. habe von einem tighten spieler mmn das maximum rausgeholt. turn war leider eine schlechte karte für mich. hab gehofft es kommt kein karo.....er hat allerdings sehr schnell gemucked also vlt hatte er doch nicht AA oder KK?
der turn shove ist halt for protection und ich denk schon dass er manchmal mit AA oder KK bezahlt wenn eine karo dabei is. und noch einmal callen kommt für eigentlich nicht in frage.....ich wills nicht drauf ankommen lassen, dass hinten raus eine dumme karte kommt. (A,K oder ein 4tes karo).....

zum abschluss noch der schöne monatsgraph für den dezember 2010!
alle wichtigen (sicken) zahlen findet ihr in der grafik! muss sagen, dass ich nach langer zeit mal wieder mit einem monat zufrieden bin. einziges manko: ich habe leider nicht soviwel spielen können wie ich gerne wollte.........aber wie schon gesagt, es gibt ja noch viel wichtigere dinge abseits des pokersports :)

heute abend wars recht nett :) bin sehr zufrieden mit dem outcome. meit hot-run im dezember somit fortgesetzt.
spielte 2 nl 50 tische (da 20€profit gesamt) machte auf den nl50 tischen nur einen schlechten call am river. wobei es auch blöd gehen kann und am flop gegen eine fish eigentlich alles rein gehen kann. ich hatte A10 im sb aufgefüllt. bb (eben der fish) checkt. ein paar limper waren auch im pot. flop AAJ.
naja der langen rede kurzer sinn. am river (board lag AAJQK 3 pik die aber runner runner ankamen) bettet er nochmal 9€. die bet kann ich einfach nicht bezahlen da ich nicht glaub dass er da ein kleines A noch betten würde auch wenn er ein fish is. er hatte AQs. somit zwar schlechter call am river (btw. vor mir hat auch einer gecallt also war mein call schon mies) aber andererseits hab ich immerhin 36€gesaved :) weil ich geh da normal am flop broke aber er hat meine flop bet nicht geraist.....

die lässigste hand war diese hier big call wie ich meine
das schönste is ja das ein mr. oberfish dabei war der pausenlos rumdonkt aber fest multitabled. ^^ ich wusste ich hab ihn beat. aber mri machte sorgen dass dann der andere fish auch shovte. nur ich konnte mir beim besten willen nicht vorstellen dass einer von beiden ein set oder ein two pair bis zum river so spielen würde

fröhliche weihnachten erstmal an alles leser :) hoffe ihr hattet alle a braves christkindl :) mir brachte es u.a. einen Ipod Nano :) somit bin ich ab jetzt auch stolzer besitzer eines apple produktes.

und das christkind brachte mir auch heute noch etwas: endlich mal wieder bisschen zocken :) kam zuletzt gar nicht dazu. heute wollt ich wieder mal etwas länger spielen (2std) und 8 tische NL 10 waren da gerade richtig um wieder mal ein gefühl zu bekommen wie es ist auf so vielen tischen zu spielen. ob ihr es glauibt oder nicht: ob 6 oder 8 tische is schon ein gewaltiger unterschied! vor allem wenn man daneben noch fernsieht :D

beginnen wir mit den schlechten händen:

ich hasse den river. das zweite mal schon in diesem monat bzw. in den letzten 3 sessions, hab ich am turn absolute nuts und werd derbe ausgesuckt.......ich mache dem guten regular hier nicht viele vorwürfe. er hat sich auch entschuldigt :D bringt mir viel ^^

unlucky. da kam viel zusammen: schlechter gegner, nur 60bb stack, paired A am turn.......paired das A am turn nicht geb ich ws auf. aber das zweite A lies mich denken er donkt rum ;-)
aber halb so schlimm da ich glaube gegen einen kompetenten gegner hier folden zu können bzw den turn aufgeben zu können

jetzt zu den besseren ergebnissen :):

das is so dermaßen sick. ich dachte die fällt noch aber dir rate is immer weiter gestiegen *lol*
seit langem wieder mal ein monat mit dem ich vollkommen zufrieden bin. naja ok nicht ganz, ich wünschte ich könnte etwas mehr spielen(nur 14std im dezember); aber es gibt halt doch noch viel wichtigere dinge abseits des pokersports, nämlich familie und freunde :)

some SH-action, some hand questions

Hey guys, I need your help.
Have been playing a bit of SH NL50 over the last couple days, playing pretty badly, running pretty badly also, therefore I am essentially breaking even. There were some spots were I did not feel confident with my desicion-making, hope you can help me out with some.

#1 AQ --> My read was that pot-sized-bets coming from this player are bluffs more often than not. And I was right. Pretty brutal that he catches runner-runner. If I feel that he is bluffing I should not raise the turn, since he can't have too much equity and I want him to continue to barrel the river. Agreed? Or is the pot big enough in your opinion and should I therefore just stick it in?

#2 64s --> Preflop-call is optional imo since I am opp, I was c/r both flop and turn but noone would cooperate. (Turned out pretty well for me in the end.) On the river I think I should fold, it is not that likely that the 2nd villain would raise a pure J there once I bet out and the inital called. A bluff is also very unlikely, therefore I rate to be beat. Agreed?

#3 QQ --> Pretty brutal. I love how I plaed the hand, though, espesically my raise-sizing on the flop that tricked villain into thinking that I had a small pocket pair, trying to find out if it is any good. What can you do ...

#4 JJ --> This one rates to be a very interesting hand. I think flop bet is very standard. 'Sly001' is a loose passiv fish, 'dmx' a rather good reg. When these two guys just call I am pretty sure I have the best hand. 'Dmx' would have raised any better hand and 'sly' probably has a very wide range there. The Q on the turn is not likely to have changed that much, apart from JT. So I decided to bet again to gain information, I figured if I get called/raised by dmx I will be done with the hand, if the fish raises I am done also, if he calls I need to reevaluate the river. When he just called, I figured he could still have hands like 97, 86, 87, 86, T9, J9, 56, 57 etc. So I don't really know what to do on the river. I felt like he had hit his straight there quite often, on the other hand the probably has sets/two pairs here also sometimes. I fiured, since he is a fish, he will call with those hand, and stuck it in. It would probably have been better to check and fold to a shove, since I don't see him bluffing me there and he will check behind anything but a straight. Therefore I don't get value off his weaker hands, but avoid going broke to his straihts. Agreed? Any suggestions? Not bet turn?

#5 KK --> I have never been in a spot like that and absoulutely did not know what to do. No clue? The flop-check is probably bad. Bet out and fold to shove? Check/shove if one guy bets out, but fold if one guy bets out and get one caller (like it happened). No clue. Very weird spot.

... just a little update from me.

Lately I made a three weeks break on live poker, didn't put my hands on any cards ... no cashgame, no tourney .. nothing. beside I also quite rarely played online. I think it was a good decision and when I came back to the tables about 12 days ago I had a good feeling. this is what I already told you on my latest entry. the tourney wasn't running good, NL50 made the turning point and got me a little plus for that evening. I returned for the 30 euro freezeout (11k chips, levels auf 15 minutes) on saturday, but there was some sort of "mis-organisation" or not enough advertising for it, so just 11 others showed up and we made it a two talbes short handed tourney .. more or a less a 12-person-sng :D ... I did ok there, reached final table and had a good stack .. in the end I went out with 88 vs. AQ vs. AA .. the aces were good enough to bust us both (blinds were getting higher and higher, the structure could be better if you ask me .. but it's ok) .. so I called it a night and left the place on 5th place without any money.

Next visit was on wednesday last week, when I was informed about a special table - a private game without any spectators and people able to join - we played it in a separate area with a special red table .. I liked that one :) .. the bonus of this one was, that all players on the table knew each other and we had a lot of fun, .. table talk was on and drinks did the rest ;)

We first played a quick 30+5 double chance with 5 people which meant there were 150 to win and last two could make a deal. I had quite good cards (and some luck too) so I made it top two and we splitted for 75 each ... 40 plus, good start in the evening before we went on with CG. The game was NL200 with dealers choice (btw the double chance was also half texas, half omaha ... fun haha). I bought in with 100 and after the first hand I had 160 infront of me :D .. quick win .. *i like*

In the next hours I lost more and more hands and wasn't very lucky. So I lost nearly my whole stack and and reloaded for 50 when I was down to 50 .. this total of 100 went to the others later on ... I was pissed and not very happy. so I left the room to join the NL50 table in the open area. we were about 7 or 8 players there, .. mainly older ones .. I was the "young boy" haha .. but I like those guys, they are fun and always friendly and good to play. I made some little pots but lost a big one when I flopped a top hand, turned a nuts flush and got beaten by a full house (Queens and Jacks) on the river ... as my opponent called every big bet I made on first and second street .. too bad .. so I was nearly down to 1/5 of my stack .. no good ... and this one was lost after some more hands. the table was goin to finish, so I left and decided to go back to the private area.

They were just 5 left there, two players had lost everything (also several reloads) and left the place already. I sat down, just to watch a little more (it was around 1 or 1.30 in the morning) but as I noticed two of the players were totally drunk and pushed all in with any shit, made big bets or just put it in with no look on there cards, I decided to reload for 100 bucks. it was a good decision ... I waited for a good hand and about 10 minutes after I sat down I got something like QQT9 on PLO .. i just called for 2, .. the biggest drunk-lord on the table made it pot .. guy beside me called and I made it pot all in ... both called and so we had a pot of some 300 euros ... one had KKxx, next to me had JJxx .. board came down with a set of jacks on the flop for my neighbour, but also with a lot of outs for me, on the turn I made an openender and on the river came my lucky card for a straight with QT (9-K) .. so I won the pot against the two drunken boys .. relax back in my chair, .. played two more hands, .. left the room for a break and played table football with one of the dealers outside. after this one, I went back - called the floor for cashout, .. wished a good night to everyone still playing (just 4 in the meantime, drunk-lord had left after loosing big) and left with a total minus of about 40 bucks .. which was ok for me after being down much more.

rest of the week was more or less poker-free, .. just played on qualifier for the big sunday on win2day, where I was unlucky when flopping a set of Kings against a nuts flush draw who re-raised all in against my big bet on the flop, which I of course had to call with the nuts, .. turn flush for him - two hands later pushed my mini-stack left and was out. no big sunday .. :) next poker should be end of this week .. maybe the 30-euro again .. we'll see .. or I make a one week break before I hope to return to the tables together with docwu and fontaene as we want to play at JPS in the university-free time around x-mas.

winning big pots & getting sponsorship by random people

Hey guys,
I've played some NL100 over the last couple days and it has genreally payed off for me. I have taken down the two biggest pots of my career there, and even though both of them where pretty standard and did not require a lot of deep thinking, I am please to have taken them down, obviously.
#1 88 --> Preflop is super standard, I can expect a lot of callers and therefore I have sufficient odds to call. On the flop I guess I could slowplay, but if someone has a T there he is gonna stack off anyways and the initial was loose passive so I did not expect him to fold an overpair there. Also I have to think about protection a lot more than normally, since the 2 tens offer two more outs to an overpair. So super standard play, super cool that he payed me off.
#2 AA --> That's my biggest one so far. He claimed to having had 99 (and I believe him), so it's a pretty big cooler for him. I just call turn because I am really scared of JT, it seemed very likely, we were rather deep and generally I am much more causcious at NL100 at the moment. Once the river paired I was reliefed and very confident to get it in and take down my biggest pot ever.

I have also gotten a fair bunch of "sponsoring" by the player 'gmudi1'. Look at how much he donated to me within one single session:
#3 QQ --> Don't really know what that was supposed to be ...
#4 QTs --> Here I actually missed value, since he calls much more with a 6 and is likely to stack off with a T, so I should have raised a bunch more on the river.
#5 JJ --> Rarely a check on the flop has worked better ...

To not only show winning hands I post #6 KT with a lot of shame. Flop and turn are pretty standard, but on the river I screw things badly. Never ever is this a raising hand here against the minraise of a loose-passive player! Just call! To my excuse, I was stuck in that session, it was 2:30 am and I was exhausted. Still a very bad play.

nur kurz zwei hände:

#1 AA
die hand is irre sick. ich 3 bette pf auf 2.55€ kriege 3 caller und bin OOP. das is schonmal mies. dann noch so ein flop! der flop is mies. mein plan: ich checke und würde das all in des preflop raisers auf jeden fall zahlen wenn die anderen beiden folden! wäre auvon den odds her gedeckt gewesen. ABER: gegen zwei is es ein klarer fold. auf dem flop is die range der beiden (vior allem des zweiten typen der all in geht) zu groß: QQ, 1010, 99, KJs, KJo, J8s, J8o, AQs in karo, AQo, J10s, J10o, 109s, 109o, Qjs, QJo,
gegen die range hab ich ca. 31% somit kann ich einen callen. ABER: haben zwei typen die range hab ich plötzlich nur noch 14%. pot odds 3,12:1. also 1:3. brauche 25%!!!! hoff ich hab richtig grechnet. also ich kann den call zwar machen aber der is halt sehr sehr varianzlastig. bin froh gefolded zu haben. ich glaub wenn ich da calle, muss ich mir immer vorwerfen AA überspielt zu haben. fands ja witzig das genau in de rhadn dann das board runter blanked :D
wusste zwar das beide gegner fische sind. trotzdem kann ich hier einen call niemals verteidigen meiner meinung nach. somit für mich klar ein guter fold!

und die hand is geil. wenn ich diese hand sehen würde und es würde jemand anders sie spielen und ich würde sie nicht analysieren sage ich: der typ (also ich) ist ein vollfisch :D
aber leute die hand zeigt wieder wie wichtig reads sind!. preflop mal ist standard. ich krig tolle odds plus top position. flop is net so schlecht^^ ich wusste dass ich den initial beat hab. warum sonst callt er am flop nur. mmn callt er da z.b. mit allen großen assen die flop verpasst haben also, AJ-AK, jedes OP muss er ja da raisen und auch jede andere made hand da er protecten muss. so. dann der flop raiser: von ihm wusste ich dass er draws raist bzw. bettet. also sah ich die chance dass er nur an draw hat!. sorgen machte mit nur der sb der den flop auch overcallte wie ich. aber: er hatte nur mehr 2.83 also war er mir egal. genau so wie der typ der seine draws raist auch sein stack war mir egal. er hatte nur mehr 3.50€. allerdings is das nebensächlich. einzig allein der sb hätte mir sorgen gmacht wenn er einen größeren stack gehabt hätte! weil dann kann ich net broke gehen. gegen den flop raiser wär ich (bin mir ziemlich sicher) auch für mehr broke gegangen bzw, ich hätte den turn auch geraist wenn er mehr behind ghabt hätte. das der initial am turn plötzlich auch zahlt, bereitete mir ein wenig kopfzerbrechen. aber ich schätze ihn gsd korrekt ein. gab ihm genau dass was er hatte AJ-AK in herz.
ein riesiger pot den ich nur mit paar 10 - 9 kicker gewinner. schaut komisch aus aber is wenn man es näher betrachtet (sprich alle metaebenen ansieht) von mir gut gespielt wie ich denke......
kurz gesagt: ich wusste ich hab 2 beat. und der typ im sb hatte noch ca. 3€ und das risiko is es wert. dass waren meine gedanken im schnelldurchlauf. aber is schon cool, dass der im sb nit mal a paar 10er schlägt. da glaub ich fast er hatte auch einen draw: pik flush draw was anderes kommt net in frage glaub ich.
outcome aus der hadn einfach geil. 120BB's mit einem paar 10er ^^ hatte ich glaub auch sehr sehr selten. session +27! nur nl 10 roll jetzt auf 960....

PS: ich glaubte btw in der hand auch das der sb einfach oft genug da nix hat bzw, etwas was ich beate und das brauch gar net so oft sein wenn er in 33% der fälle da nur an draw hat oder eben weniger (heißt ein paar 10er schlechterer kicker - is eigentlich mehr als ein draw :D) is es schon profitabel (hoff wieder ich hab mich net verrechnet weil das war jetzt kopfrechnung^^)

Play 20 hours of online poker and win a month's salary! I had an exam on thursday afternoon, after that I had the whole weekend in front of me without having any mayor duties. So I decided to get in some volume since there probably won't be much time to play in the next 2 weeks. And well, I was on a heater(obviously), but also played pretty good for the most part. Hands are 65% from NL50FR, 25% from NL50SH, 5% from NL50HU and 5% from NL100FR. I had my biggest winning session so far on friday morning, winning almost 400€ in 90 minutes. In course of that I also won my biggest pot up do date, when a loose-passive-fish most likely overplayed his aces. This friday was also my second biggest winning day, taking home ~500€. Then I proceeded to win ~490€(3rd best day) on Saturday and around 400€(4th) today. I am very confident with my game now and generally very exited about poker, obviously. Looking forward to playing NL100SH and getting in action with all these w2d-pros. Hopefully I can hold my own on the next limit, plan to ascend in February at the latest.
And oh yeah, I have also played 3 tourneys (35€ combined expenses). Needless to say that I did not cash one of them. ;) I just suck at them. And they generally suck, too. I even think I played pretty well in some spots, in the 19h 2€-Rebuy I was not cathing many hands, finally had to race with AKs vs 99 and that was the end of that. In the 22h 5,5€SH I think I played the best I was capeable of playing but could not help busting out shortly before the money. Ran terribly in that tourney in general. AK vs K8 AI on 552rb flop, A9vsA5 AIpf, JJvsA9 AIpf, A9vsA7 AIpf .... couldn't win one of them .... Finally busted out when I raised AT in the CO 20BB deep, the SB flats with JJ and the flop comes out T22 ... Bye Bye. And I played one of the new deep-stacked-tournies on w2d, the structure is really incredible (after 2 hours of playtime I had doubled my starting stack and still had ~100BB) and I love it! Obviously, it is still a tourney and I still suck. Opened the CO 80BB deep to 3BB, reasonable player on the BU makes it 8BB, I call. Flop comes AT3 with a flushdraw. I c/c a small bet, donkbet the turn and shove the river ..... and pay off his TT. Easy game for him.
My science-project starts tomorrow, I am actually pretty exited and looking forward to it. Have a nice week.

Heute mal ein paar News vom Maniac (natürlich nur Maniac was den Nick angeht ;) haha). Hab zuletzt mal drei Wochen Pause gemacht und keine Karten in die Hand genommen. Auch online hab ich während dieser Zeit nur einige wenige Hände zum Zeitvertreib gespielt - abgesehen davon, dass ich aktuell eh kaum mehr online zocke.

Nun, nach 3 Wochen abseits der Pokertische, kehrte ich am Mittwoch an diese zurück und besuchte meinen Stamm-CardRoom in Klagenfurt. Das JPS hat per 1.12. sein Angebot bzw. Programm geändert und ich war positiv überrascht als ich davon erfuhr. Ab sofort gibt es Cashgame 50/50 Cent (also NL50) - wurde auf Wunsch der meisten Spieler eingeführt, da es doch mehr Leute gibt die nicht umbedingt NL200 spielen können bzw. nicht so sehr auf PLO mit x-fachen Pot-Raises heiß sind. Somit läuft jetzt jeden Tag (sofern genug Leute da sind) ein NL50 Tisch (mit Texas) und ein NL200 Tisch (normal auch mit Texas, auf Wunsch mit dealers choice). Am NL200 gibt's Bonus für HighHands, am NL50 gibt es ne Punkterangliste (1P. pro halbe Stunde am Tisch) und dafür dann Boni am Monatsende. Klingt schon mal ganz gut .. ich hab gleich mal das NL50 Game ausprobiert, Tisch war voll und sehr nice zu spielen, da nicht lauter "Verrückte" am Tisch waren und man gemütlich zocken konnte - hab dort 150 Euro plus gemacht - bin zufrieden. Hab nur vorher im 5er Rebuy Turnier etwas zuviel reingebuttert *g* hihi, sodass ich wohl max. 70 oder 80 im Plus war für diesen Tag (lief lange nicht im Turnier und ich hatte einige Double Rebuys und das Addon - am Ende am FT als 7. mit 88 vs. 99 ausgeschieden).

Thema Turniere (das wird auch docwu interessieren, abgesehen vom NL50 CG was wohl für docwu und fontaene interessant ist): Es gibt ab sofort vier Turniere pro Woche - u.a. ein 30 Euro Freezeout jeden Samstag (Starting Stack 11.000 - schönes Deepstack) auf welches ich mich schon freue - endlich mal wieder ein Freezeout mit angenehmen Buy-In :) .. werd ich wohl gleich mal morgen spielen. Dazu gibt es ein Double Chance Freezeout (glaub mit 20 Euro am Dienstag), das übliche 5er Rebuy am Mittwoch, usw. - genaues Programm kann ich gerne mal posten falls Interesse besteht :) ... Monatsturnier wie gehabt am 1. Freitag im Monat (10er Rebuy, .. aber denk das werd ich nun auch kaum mehr spielen - bringt nix, zu crazy) - und wer im Monat acht Turniere spielt, bekommt einen 25 Euro Gutschein der für CG oder Turniere eingelöst werden kann - find ich auch ganz ok für die Vielspieler von denen es ja genug gibt.

Nunja, .. sogesehen freu ich mich auf die kommenden Monate - werd wieder öfter Turniere spielen, vorallem das Samstags-Turnier wird wohl anziehend wirken ;) .. und von Zeit zu Zeit ein wenig NL50 CG wirds wohl auch geben :)

Currently I am feeling like I am tougher than almost anybody else. 4 hours of playtime, without breaks, being stuck 5BI's, not tilting, winning back 4BI's, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, then losing 2BI's again, being so disappointed, but still remaining focused and finally reaching that beneficial line that say "even". I feel like I played like my C-game all through the session and I definitely feel like there were a ton of hands that I have missplayed quite a bunch. I'll review them later on, but first I'd like to edit my goals for December a little bit.
What I have forgot to postulate:

Start to review all important hands after each session again. I have been doing this like for two years, but in the last month somehow have been getting lazy on this. I have to understand that this is definitely mandadory in order to have long term sucess. You just learn so much about weaknesses in your game.
Play at least two live sessions in Graz, NL100-NL200, most likely at the CCC. If the games are tough or nobody is playing, a live MTT might do as well. I wanna do this generally because it rates to be fun, plus I have been told that the average player there is a crazy maniac in his early 40ties, trying to forget about the motonity of their lifes and the consequences of their recent divorces by doing booze and then monkying around on the tables. Sounds like a good place to be ....

Further I fear that I might not be able to get in 25K hands and profit 2K€. Not because my first session went so terrible, but because I have been offered a little Job by the FH Joanneum in Graz that I could not turn down. I will do some qualitative research amoung people from very very low-income-areas in Graz, which will surely be a bit tough and probably depressing, but I am used to that playing poker. ;) I don't exactly know yet how much of my time these duties will take, but I am expecting a worktime of about 40hours. Besides that there is university, obviously, and the habital christmas-shopping-crap, that I totally try to avoid each year, but never fully manage to escape anyways. So there probably won't be much time to play for me in the first half of December, but I hope to get in a decent amount of hands and cash in the second half during the holdidays. So I'll reverse my goals to ....

Anyways, let's quickly jump to some hands of my recent session. As always, feedback is desired.
#1 TT --> Looks like a cooler, but actually it is so gross that I didn't fold it. I shouldda done it, it would have been the biggest fold of my life and it would have been correct. His (he is a very good regular) range for raising me on that flop, in a 3-bet pot with a fish having been in the hand, is exactly JJ, 77, 98 and JT, T7s(which he hast like 0,000034% since I have two tens in my hand allready). He does not raise J7 preflop there. Given the fact that he almost never has JT and T7, I am behind his range, it's not even close ........ OK, wait a minute, I just poker-stoved it, forget about what I have just said, even against JJ, 77, 98 I have like 43% (I don't really get why, but it is bound to be correct), so I should not have folded, since I allready had invested a lot. Cool, I love pokerstove, now I am relieved, it was indeed a total cooler.
#2 AJ --> Very deceptive rivercard, impossible to read, he might even value-bet a weaker J, so it's a snap call. Well played by him though.
#3 99 --> Snap-fold obviously against these villains, (I can't even call for my FH-outs since somebody might very well have TT or JJ here), but it still is very disappointing to raise it up with a pp pf, thinking you hit a good flop and then realising that somebody has you beat.
#4 A2s --> Villain was a huge loose-passive fish that showed aggresion for the first time. We were ueber-deep-stacked and I was certain he had a set or two pair, so I called the pot sized bet on the turn planning to shove any river that gave me the nuts. On a pair-board-flush-card I would have bet out like 1/3pot and folded to a raise. At least that was the plan.
#5 86s --> I could have bet the turn, but I guess checking is not bad. His bad flop-call gets rewarded on the river.
#6 AA ----- #7 33 ----- #8 QQ ----- #9 AA ----- #10 JJ

I guess you get the message, I just kept losing these smaller pots, but those add up and can eventually lead to massive stuckness. Only with great will power and a little help of lady luck I could break even. Oh, and there were some things I did do pretty well, too.
#11 QTs --> The max I can win off this particular player ... I think the line was actually pretty good for the circumstances.
#12 88 --> I honestly don't know why I checked the flop, but once the main villain bet the turn, I immideatly where the hand would end in front of my inner-eye, I knew that 'suss' was drawing for a spade and I just felt that villain would keep on firing the river. Once the queen pairs it becomes a fairly standard call, to be hones.
#13 25s --> ;) Iwas stuck, when I am stuck, I get creative. No, honestly, what I have learned is from deucescracked is that suited connectors play extremely well when 80-130BB deep, above that they lose value, since they are going to get overflushed fairly often, also, when you make two pair with them and somebody gives you action they are likely to have a higher two pair, since everybody plays tighter when deeper. So a good way of playing them is folding them often, but when playing them doing it actively by 3-betting regulars. If I 3-bet them I shorten the effective stack-size of the people in the pot, meaning there are fewer bets left. So i can then happily stack off if I hit my hand and not be worried of being beat if I have like the 8 high flush and somebody has the nut flush. In a 3bet pot it is a cooler, in a normal raised pot it is my fault if I stack off relentlessly. In this particular hand, well, I was just inspired. I thought to myself: He would have bet a FD on the flop, my hand should be a total mystery to him since I checked the flop ..... so I did it. It was a good thing mathematically too, since I risked ~40€ to win ~40 in the pot, so I does only need to work out 50% of the time
#14 A4s --> Picking off the triple-barrel. Standard, I guess ...
#15 TT --> I just called flop and turn because I was not focused on the hand since I had another big hand going on. On the river I looked closely, analysed the board, looked back on his actions: Most hands he bets with on flop and turn are K's. But every king shuts down on the river [since he was a loose passive player], there is now way he is betting top two or a set here, so to me the only hand that he could have and that had me beat was K5. I thought with 75, 85 or 45 he would have checked behind on the turn. So there were almost no hands beating me (in my mind) and I made the hero call.
#16 36s --> It makes absolutely no sense for him to be c/c the turn and then firing 3/4 pot on the river. The only hands I can think off that might to this are K9 and A9. But I thought he would have bet out with those himself on the turn, so he can't have those either. After all it was Ziigmund, so you have to call him anytime anyways. ;) Turned out he was floating me oop, just terribe play here by him with that hand.

Puhhh, this post has gotten out of control by a fair amount, seems just like there were a ton of interesting hands, at least for me. Hope you enjoyed, allthough I probably think you didn't even read it on the whole. Anyways, I am gonna induldge myself now with a nice beer,

November still was a decent month, allthough I did not win as much as in the last 2 month. Well, how to start? I started the month with a lot of (poker)video-watching, read a lot of articles from deucescracked.com regarding short handed play, etc. In the beginning it did work out, but somehow I felt like I perceived a lot of that stuff, but didn't really understand it. Or I don't know, probably these articles/videos were just promiting a style of play that I am not confortable playing and doesn't suit my "personality". It is also likely that it just can't be played very profitable in the games I am playing. So I took on the 5max tables first, went up pretty quickly in the first 3 days of november, than almost 10BI down within the next three days, which would be a very very huge loss given my normal, rather tightish style. But I felt like the new style I was playing was not so bad to begin with, but somehow it made me tilt more when things were not going so great. I also began to second-guess simple decisions. Some stuff that I did: #1 88 --> 'sirana' is what I think the best player on NL50FR, but even he doesn't usually let go off an overpair, espescially on that sort of board. It is unlikely that I have a 4 and if i have a set, well, he just pays me off. He made a great call there, but my bluff is simply terrible. I should now that I can't push players around here, even if they happen to be very rational. #2 TT --> No words for this, it is probably the worst hand I've played in a long time. While it is probably mostly a good idea to attack weakness, it is generally not a good idea to attack strenght. ;) #3 KK --> When you start getting unlucky then also, it is really hard to show a profit ... #4 KQ --> Turn-card makes space for a nice cooler. I thought he has an overpair here most of the time, so I decided to shove the river. It is possible he even folds those, so I am making a sucker play there, but I don't know. #5 JTs --> Then real spew here again, don't really know what I was thinking there.
So I then took some time off and moved down to NL20 to regroup and find my pace again. I stayed down there for like 7K hands of 5max and HU and I can say it was a lot of fun. #6 Q8s --> stacking the maniac, wuhuu ..... Nah, I suppose you had a K there, so you really can't get out, it is just a cooler.
After some time then I went back to NL50FR as my peak game, generally adding two tables of 5max, and all of a sudden things started working out again. I made some nice profits within the last 7 days of november and I am marginaly content now with my results. From my cash winnigns you have to deduct ~75€ in tournament entrys (no cash, of course), but you can ad like 150€ in SNG winnings, of which I played plenty this month. Alltogehter my winnings for november are ~1200€, I have played around 55hours, which equals a hourely rate of 21,8€, which is o.k. I guess. Also got in a lot of volume (for my standards) this month, surely the most number of hands I have ever played.
Here is my hand of the month for you: #7 KQ, or how to stack Hug0r Hug0r is a guy from Carinthia how is reported to having made 5-digit-sums in the earlier days of online poker. (Anyhow, I hear that everybody used to make 5-digit-sums at least in the earlier days of online poker, so it probably isn't that big a deal.) Anyhow, he plays mid stakes at w2d now and I was lucky to see him waiting on some FR table, so I obvioulsy sat, taking my chance to play a (most likely) really good player for relatively cheap sums, even though I don't have an edge. He started out really aggressive, this hand actually was the first hand he had limped (don't know why he even does this, rather strange) and once he goes broke on that board I suppose I did cooler him a lot here, most likely he had 2 pair (at least) or the bad end of the straight. Very sweet to hold your own against tought competition, even thought only over a small sample.

My plans for December:

get healthy again, as I am currently fighting a giant cold
after that -->
play NL50 again exclusively (with occasional shots at NL100)
get in 25K hands
over 2K€ in cash winnings
one tourney-cash

wenn er da broke geht und JJ nicht schlägt ist er einfach ein sepp sry ;-) er hatte wohl 99-1010 und ich glaub nicht dass es empfehlenswert da broke zu gehen. ich mag sein min raise sogar wenn er 99-1010 hat. nur warum folded er nicht wenn ich daraufhin shove?? naja w2d troll halt - ich mag sie :D
er hat am flop noch 5.40€zum nachlegen und ich bin halt immer der meinung dass wenn ich siche weiß geschlagen zu sein dann spar ich mir mein geld lieber auch wenn cih schon 50% vom stack drin hab....naja ich hoff die anderen sehen das nicht so ;D

sepp 3 ist ein typischer: "HOHOHOO ich hab den (nut) flush draw und call alles"-typ (nehme ich an weil womit geht er sonst broke?)
btw ich glaub selbst A10in karo muss er am turn folden weil er mir ein set geben muss (minimum) und dagegen hat er 18%....aber er hat eigentlich eh alles richtig gmacht^^

darum muss man einfach aces limpen
ich hab natürlich gewusst das in dieser mmn sehr kuriosen hand der fisch mit big slick auch nur limpen wird und dann das case ace kommen wird :D
am ende wär es blunzen gewesen wie ich sie spiele. wenn ich raise callt er oder re raist mich, flop kommt dann und das A liegt trotzdem und er wär dann auch broke gegangen......trotzdem war es witzig :D

der river call ist einfach nur mies und da gibts kein KEIN schön reden. wie ein anfänger der AA net folden kann. ich bin da ein absoluter "beat-nix" und call als hätt ich die nuts ein all in......fish hin oder her!

Hey guys, exactly one year ago i wrote this post, in which I made the promise to not play online poker for one year in order to be more productive at university and pursue an academic career. lol. The first thing docwu did after having read the post was to call me, laugh at me and tell me that I will never be able to make it. ... He was right. ...... It worked out like 35 days if I remember well, then I just had to return to the (virtual) felt. And in fact, as a resùmee, I can say that I am glad I did. I have won more than I set out to win, have (subjectively) improved my game more than I thought I would improve and sucessfully have made the tranisition from playing micro- to low-mid-stakes online.
I also don't feel like my commitment to poker has prevented me from any academic sucess. While I surely am not the smartest and most hard-working student in my year, I am definitely not the biggest jerk either and have gotten along quite well in the last 12 month.
So everything seems fine. I also played a little "birthday-session" today, since while I don't give a crap about birthdays and festivities in general, I do think that on this particular day you should do whatever comes to your mind and gives you joy. So I decided to get in a short session before heading to university ad noon. It went pretty well and I want to conclude the post with my "official birthday-hand" ..... How do they say it in "A-team" ... "I love it when a plan comes togehter ...!" Put in 5 hours of play today, so the results are pretty meh! Started off pretty badly with a few coolers/suckouts, faught back, then went on a massive heater, only to lose half of it again in 2 single hands, when my concentration began to windle down and I also got owned by a very tricky regular in a sick hand.

#1 AT --- not the best start to a session

#2 QT --- I check turn in order to trap him into stacking off his overpair (and maybe JJ) on the river. If I bet here I almost assure him that I have a Q, and naturally I don't want this to happen. Maybe my river raise is bad anyway, I just thought he would surely stack off with the hands mentioned above. Don't know for sure though. Naturally I didn't put him on a hand like a straight or a flush, so well played by him. Pretty deceptive.

#3 99 --- Hurray, set over set ...

#4 AQ --- Here I screw things badly when I call down even though I never should against this player when he takes this line.

#5 AQ --- Just like here ;) To my excuse, I knew my villain was fish there, I just didn't know which kind of fish he was, so I kept on calling to find out.

#6 KQ --- Here I tried to screw a reg in a 3-bet pot when we were pretty deep. I risk 19€ on the flop in order to win 20€, so this must not work out that often. I guess he folds AK/AQ there, so I like to think my move is profitable. And against JJ> I also have some kind of equity if I am called. I thought about betting turn/shoving river since I think I should be able to get him off all overpairs, but finally backed up.

#7 AK --- Losing flips vs. fish is no fun!

#8 AK --- Hmm, stacking with TP in a five-way pot never looks too good if you lose, but I thought villain to be a massive fish. Maybe I was wrong, since he played his hand rather accordingly there.

#9 AK --- The villain, a NL50/NL100 SH regular, totally owns me there. I put him on exactly the kind of hand he had on the flop and decided that he could never call an all-in on the turn. Boy, was I wrong. It didn't even take him 5 seconds. He just knew it. I took a long time to act on the turn, maybe he picked up on that, or he just assumed that I'd be likely to check KK or AA in that spot for pot control. (which is frighteningly true!!!!) It seems like I still have got plenty to learn.

It also seems like AK was not that kind to me ... ;) And I could also notice that the quality of my game always starts to crumble when I reach a playtime of 2 hours. This might be due to the fact that I haven't done much sports in the last couple month and therefore am lacking phsical and mental endurance. I'll try to keep my sessions a bit a shorter in the next weeks.

#1 63 --- A fun fun hand. ,He was 3-betting me pretty freqeuntly, so I faught back. It seems as if he slowplayed his KK/AA and it just didn't work out for him.

#2 99 --- Lucky flop for me, hard to get out for him in a 3-bet pot.

#3 AQ --- WTF?

#4 AK --- Wuhu! Folding out a (potential) Q by repping a set.

#5 54 --- Getting very lucky. Play was pretty loose at this table, so I thought my main-villain might call the flop with a pure K and I bet the turn as bluff to fold out these kings. They are both regs, so I figured it might work. When he shoves I know I am in trouble, but I am getting 4,5 to 1, so it's a crying call imo. At least it is ironic since 'Valencia' had coolered me with the exact same hand today. See losing hand #2.

#6 A3 --- Nothing that we did in this maks any sense, so I am not going to comment on it. ;)

[I actually just realized how lucky I have gotten in some spots. Wow, I might be the biggest fish in these games.]

#7 77 --- NICE

#8 AA --- He value-bet himself to death ...

So I guess the results are o.k. overall, but of course they could/should be better. But I'll keep working on my game and chasing the fish, then I can just hope that my results also get better time after time.

Hey guys, I am done playing for this month, gonna inform you here how I did in poker.
My goal going into October was to make 1K and shoot my roll over 5,5K, which I accomplished, as you can probably see. In fact, I profited around 1,75K (my cash winning from the graph plus 120€ from the BB-Jackpot and some small profits from shitty DON-SNG's) and shot my roll to over 6K. My hourely rate is around 37€/h again. Still, you might notice that I can't be to happy with it looking at the graph closely. I was up nearly 2K on the month when something weird happend. I had a -350€ session, were I also played some NL100 tables and basically couldn't win a pot. All over the last months I was able to handle frustrating feelings that come of sessions like these very well, but it didn't work out that time. I started doing hopeless moves against regs when it was obvious that they wouldn't fold, starting 3-betting like a maniac when my table image was bad to begin with, called 3-bets lightly oop, etc. One time I even called 50BB pf or set value with 44 (???) when there was a raise, 3- and 4-bet preflop. LOL at that. I was pritty pissed that whole day and stayed away from the tables for around 30 hours. I liked how I handled it though, especially the fact that I started playing a few sessions of NL20 for my mental recovery. But also there I couldn't really crush the games, also was I breaking even when returning to NL50SH a few days later. Mhhh. Surely I didn't run too hot, got some top two ......FUCK blogger.com ---> there was a huge part of text there explaining some things that happended and about my future goals and it has been deleted now for the second time, wtf?

So here is my hand of the month for you, it is pretty epic, espescially if you consider that villain is one of the best players at this limit imo. I raise turn as a bluff to fold out weak J's and small pairs that he called on the flop, and when he called me then I had a timing tell on him [took no time, called instantly]. There is no value hand he can have that will take no time here. He can't insta-call a one pair hand here since he must assume that he is in trouble, with any two pair or set he is in a tricky spot and must decide if he wants to put me all in right now. The only drawing hand that really makes sense is T9 here, since he can't really be calling the flop with too many hands that haven't connected yet. So I diasceted everything correctly, came to the right conclusion and stuck with it. He was surprised to say the the least. Probably the best hand I have ever played.

What else? Univeristy is going great, so far a lot of fun this semester. Lots of politics and philosophy, little math and economics. Still, November is gonna be a taunting month I suppose, with one huge exam and one paper to write. Not doing so much sports right now, little desire to be running [docwu whill school me for getting fatter every day again], was thinking about the aquisition of a mountain bike since this is something I have allways wanted to do. But in order to afford one I have to start winning at poker again. ;)

hey folks!
been to the pokerstars ept vienna party last night ... wow .. just awesome, .. what a party, what a location (the box club in the vienna hilton) .. and such a great crowd and music. three of the best djs from ministry of sound came over from london and rocked the house ... really really great! quite a huge number of poker pros there .. golser, mathis, veldhuis, strassmann, kravchenko, kollmann, de korver, spindler, .. and many more .. two reporting teams from pokernews.com and hochgepokert/pokertoday was also there .. so you will get some moving pictures online for sure ... I just took one short video with my mobile .. maybe gonna upload it when I'm back home at the end of the week. today is day 1a of the main event, .. I will try to rail matthias on his way through ... let's see ... hope to get inside, .. there are quite strict restrictions and a registration for everyone who wants to enter the building ... no visitors ... but there is cash game inside, so the need to let everyone in who is willing to play ;) ... don't say I will play 5/10 or higher haha .. of course I'm not stupid :D ... have a nice one, mike

summer grinding is over, EPT ahead

to sum it up short, my summer was not much about poker. early days of summer I had not much time and there wasn’t the best offer too .. so cards in my hands were really seldom! later on in july/august/september it got better, … I found a new homegame, were we come together from time to time, … just for fun … played with those guys some 4 times I think, but that was back in july/august .. actually no time/no games.

online play was ignored most of the time, as I knew my play on win2day and stars was never that good. therefore I started to play live again, .. grinded some monthly tournament and the normal 1/2 cash game on jps card room. back in september I had a 3 weeks winning streak, when I hit on every event or cash game .. I never made any minus during this period and even had the biggest cash game pot of my life (600 euros in one hand on plo 1/2) .. therefore I was quite happy about my run. now, middle of october, it’s the total opposite, .. I’m running sooo bad … have a terrible downswing for about 3 or 4 weeks now .. started with a minus of 350, made 200 plus, another 350 minus, 120 minus for a tournament … this was just one week before my birthday some two weeks ago. (in total that makes about 600 minus in one week) .. the week after I made a minus of 200 on CG, followed by 100 last saturday .. in total coming nearly 1k down … finally ending up in a happy plus of 115 bucks last night, when I was down from 100 to 20, and 35 .. and made my way up without any rebuy, and finished with 215 infront of me … so my monthly minus is actually around 800 I think … that really sucks .. I hate it, .. and I hate myself .. because I don’t make any mistakes (just a few little) .. on the big pots I was favorite in 90% of them .. remembering one omaha hand were I had a set of Queens, .. no flush draw out there, jut QT6 .. I check it on the flop, guy bets 25, another one makes it 100, i shove for my total 220 .. first guy thinks and thinks, and calls the 220 after quite a long time .. of course the third one went all in too … turn blank .. river 8.. and the first guy betting 25 on the flop, shows J9 (he had nothing else, just the low straight draw) for a straight 8-Q … paying some 220 bucks for this one … nice pull fish … I was soooooo angry! that’s just unreal and stupid … had no fun this evening, cause I was busted three times with nuts on the flop (btw I hate to play omaha live, but sometimes it’s just the best way to make money .. but also to loose a lot).

ok, .. enough of that … I hope this win last night was turning point and I will have a look at the lower limits next week in Vienna. I’m heading to the EPT Vienna on sunday, gonna stay until friday .. won’t play the main event as I didn’t qualified (tried several steps, but always ended up in step c or d .. no luck for me). Matthias got qualified again, as he also already did for the PCA Bahamas, .. so I will rail him and all the stars coming to out capital (already had some contact about this with mr. Negreanu on twitter, .. would be nice to meet him in real) .. Negreanu, Pagano, Minieri, Grospellier, Langmann, Strassmann, Ruthenberg, Naujoks, .. just to mention a few … hope I can make some photos there too :)

my own plans for Vienna: grinding cash games (1/1 texas), maybe 1 or 2 little tournaments (all in CCC or Montesino) .. and if I get a staker or I’m a bit crazy, I might gonna play one side event at the EPT (but the only one possible would be the 300 NL on monday, and there I’m invited to a birthday party and also gonna join Matthias on the official pokerstars party in TheBox-club of the Hilton (featuring Ministry of Sound as residents of the evening) .. so let’s see. don’t think I gonna have a shot on the qualifiers on sunday or monday .. everything just rebuys. also gonna meet a lot of friends in Vienna and I’m not the only one goin there from carinthia .. so I think we will have a lot of fun beside railing the EPT main event.

Hey guys, it's been a long time. And I guess I'll also make it rather short for now. Here's my graph for online poker during summer:

I finished university around the 10th of July, startet playing around the 13th of July I think, got in 35hours at Nl20SH in July, made around 450€, further did some relaxing, running, mountain climbing, swimming and socializing of course. Spent the first week of August in Graz searching a new flat and didn't have time to play at all. By the 10th of August I startet my inevitabel yearly crap-job at Infineon in my hometown, which was extremely crappy this year. I continued to play NL20SH during August, played around 35 hours and made around 450€ also there. So pretty constant at this level, 12-13€/h, it's not so bad, but my session always were pretty swingy, I think my best one was 7BI over 500 hands and my worst was -4BI over 300 hands, stuff like that is pretty tilting to me, even though I don't really care about the swings financially, but they tilt me just out of principle.
By the 1st of september my roll had passed 2.5k and with 50BI I decided to move up to NL50. In the beginning I played FR for the most part but in the progress I also switched to the SH tables. I guess, when looking at the graph, you guys might notice which day september 1st was .... I had a blast at NL50 ... everything was working, i kept winning ... it was amazing. I played 15k hands in September and I am up just under 2k, which of course makes it my biggest month ever. I am usually 8-tableing and over this sample making 37.5€/h, which is totally amazing for me. 15k of course is not a huge sample but I am totally sure that I am a big favourite in those games and will be in the future. My winrate might go down a bit, but I suppose playing NL50 will still remain very profitable for me.
So long guys, I gotta go to sleep, the exams have begun again, so I need a clear mind for tomorrow's studying.

I say goodby with my official hand of the summer against wtfichigo, who around 3 years ago was playing up to 10€/20€, so it's always a great joy to be in a hand with a guy of his calibre.

We were pretty deep, still pretty basic play. Don't really know what he calls the turn with to then fold the river ... ? 9dXd? Or even a set? Should I maybe have checked to him to let him bluff maybe? There is like 120€ in the pot and we have like 40€ behind effectively, so I don't know if he really would fire with total air. On the other hand i figure it will be hardto get value from a hand I am beating, espescially if you consider that T9 just got there (if he has that hand for any reason). Don't know. Still totally sweet to take over 50€ off a really good player.

gruß an alle die hier mal vorbeischaun. viele sinds ohnehin nicht^^ deshalb wirds wohl nicht so schlimm sein dass wir den blog so vernachlässigen :)

nun ja ich hab ein paar interesannte hände für euch. teilweise werde ich die action nur bis zum flop zeigen und dann sollt ihr mir sagen was ich machen hätte sollen :)

ich hab (genau so wie fontaene nur er auf NL 50) einen guten run. hab seit 10. august nur mehr plus gmacht auf w2d. im september gar 60big blingds/100 hände gewonnen auf NL 10!

It was quite fascinating. 60% of the hands from NL20SH, 40% from NL50 both SH and FR. Around 5h of playtime. Thought I played pretty well, got smacked by bad variance at NL50, but always maintained my cool and remained focused and disciplined. From what I have seen today I think I can beat NL50SH just now, the games today were not that tough.

losing hands first:
#1 AKs I hate losing flips when I am just ascending a limit. I stack off with AK vs. this guy since he was fairly active. I also hate the way he plays his hand there. If he limps his jacks in UTG (which I find pretty terrible in the first place) I think they turn into a folding-hand after a raise and a 3bet by two tighter players.

#2 55 Things like that I hate even more. Grmmphhh. Checking the flop is prob. not the best option, in retrospect I'd say it's probably best to bet 80% of the time here. Turn is not the best card in the deck, therefore obvious raise for protection. When called I put villain on some kind of 2pair and draws. I don't know about my river play, really. I mean, bet is obvious, don't know about my sizing, picked this smaller amount to induce bluff-raises/shoves. When he raises me, in retrospect I don't know if I should even shove it in. Only legitimate hand I am beating is A4. Don't know. Can't be that big of a mistake to shove it in, anyways. I just didn't think that he would just flat-call with a better hand than mine on the turn. Also, he was just playing one single table, so I assumed that he was a fish.

#3 AA That's what you get for trapping ... Nah, it wouldn't have made a difference since he also stacks off pf. But how would you guys play this flop if you elected to just call the 3-bet pf? I mean, we absolutely hate the flop, but villain has just 1 psb left, so we can't fold, right? Is the shove better, or do you like c/c or c/s better?

#4 AA I'm serious, this trapping-thing does not work out at all .... The BB seemed very reasonable and that flop is just so devastating for my hand, so this hand again is very basic. Just don't trap anymore ;)

winners:
#5 KJ Heureka, I outplayed a laggy regular! On the flop I just mix it up, he really c-bets a ton, I think I can get any bare overcards to fold. Since I am risking 3€ to win 2.65€ i need that play to work out around 55% to turn a profit and I honestly think he very likely folds that often. And, if called, I might have up to 6 outs. I just decided to give up on the turn, since most op's will call me down. When the A hits the river I thought about betting (basically that A has always hit him if he didn't have at least one pair before ---> Therefore by betting I represent to at least having a decent ace), but backed up and then a funny thing happens. He bets this card, and he bets it quite big. I don't think he has a lone A there very often (if ever!), since I don't expect him to be floating on the flop with Ax hands, like mentioned above. A9, A4, A5 would make sense, but I think A9 would have likely bet the turn, so there aren't really that many hands he can have right there. I figured I could still rep a set, makes perfect sense in my head and I will sometimes play it like that. It also made sense to him as he folded. I am pretty sure he had like 66-88, that he tried to show down, but on the river realized that he could use that A to fire me off a 9 that I might have very often.

Naturally there were more hand that I've won, but the majority of them weren't too exciting. Also played the 11€-primetime tourney, busted maybe in the 8th hand, when I, still being totally tuned in on cash-game thinking, flopped a oesd with backdoor flushdraw on a rainbow board in a multiway pot an somehow was getting 4:1 on a call (because there are a lot of donkeys who will stack off with 2nd pair in that tourney ), so happily risked my tournament life and bricked. I really suck at tourneys, it's so annoying.
Yesternight's live-MTT was fun, though. Finished 45th out of 144, so still far away from the money, but it was a lot of fun and is likely to be repeated. Maybe i'll start playing some of the tourneys they have in the CCC or in the Montesino in Graz, they are rather cheap and sure offer plenty of fun.
What else is happening in my life? Not much, as always. The habitual working in odd jobs in the summer, as nearly every student has to do them. Mine is especially crappy this year, but I can't complain, it's all my fault, since I am too lazy to play like 6 to 8 hours of poker a day. That would do also. At least crappy jobs offer some social aspects as well, which makes them more bearable.

Half-marathon training is going great, which surprises me, since I am too lazy also there. Just ran the 21km a few days ago, took me 1h51m, which is not bad, given that you are always a bit faster in the actual race and that I still have 2 more month of training in front of me. I think I'll beat the 1:40 pretty comfortably. Besides that the obligate mountain-climbing-thing in summer, have allready collected five summits since july, two more are likely to follow in the next weeks.

Oh yes, and I finally have reached the highest playmoney games at FTP, which fills me with great joy. It took me about two years of casual grinding to get there. It's pretty sick if you think about it, you start with 1K in chips and the highest game is 50K/100K and now I can comfortably play in those with my 300Million-roll. ;) One could say grinding for those chips is a waste of time, but I would say it was a lot of fun and is likely to have improved my game a fair amount. Also, these chips are traded for 5-7$ per Mil online, even though Full Tilt forbids those kind of deals. But most people who intend buying those chips are criminals anyways and will cheat on you anyways, so these chips remain within my "cashier". Allthough I have reached my goal of arriving at the top playing there is not that funny anymore, so they are likey to gather dust.

As you can see, I run good even at playmoney ... ;)

So long, I have to continue watching 'Syriana' now, which, after 50min, seems like to be a great film. (It's a film about oil and how profit is made trading it. Makes you sick a little bit also, at least me personally, as I always wish I could change things, but in fact, I can't.)

randomness & future plans

Hey guys, just finished a bad session on SHNL20 and gonna pick this moment to write a bit about poker-related things. First, the session turned weird at this point, when my villain hits his 1-outer. (soooo close for the bad-beat JP) I remained pretty cool on the outside, but somehow inside me things began boiling and I didn't even notice it. It then all went down the drain is this one hand, when I called down a good player in a ridiculus spot. I am not beating anything and he is never bluffing there, so my play is really poor. On the river I was like, "well, now I've got 2 pair so I have to pay him off", which is basically nonsense, since he is not valuebetting worse. Fold the turn would have been the solution.
But even I am ocasionally winning, here a cool hand from yesternight, where I catch the fish in a very marginal spot.
Even though I lost this session just now, I am very confident with my game atm. My roll is approaching 3K, I am playin NL20SH and NL50FR, winning big at NL20 and being slightly up at NL50. Still have to adapt to the new stake, even though I feel like I didn't really run very well at NL50 so far, that way I might also have a significant edge there in the long run. The plan is now to slowly move to NL50SH and establish myself there. This might be a bit tough since these games are not so bad. 'wtfichigo' is putting in at least 4 hours at these stakes a day atm, of course there is 'arrgll', definitely one of the best guys i've played against so far at NL20 and who constanly owned me. I definitely will have to be focussed a lot to win here and also might have to pay some dues in the beginning.
I am planning on continuing to play until i reach 4K, then I will most likely split my roll, leaving myself 2K on w2d and transferring the other 2K to some other site, most likely FTP, to play NL50 there. But I might also move part of my roll to some other BossMedia-Client, since the level of play there is not so high and I might get some special rakeback-deal, ~50% (still very unlikely), using the contacts of http://alexwentpro.blogspot.com/. See what comes out of this.

Like docwu mentioned it, we're gonna play some small tourney in course of the Carinthian Poker Championship. Looking pretty much forward to it.

vollfisch ausnehmen inkludiert und ENDLICH kommt mal ein draw an in einer situation mit monsterpot.......wie oft war ich schon der depp der ausgedrawt wurde dazu noch ohne dass der gegner odds hatte.

ich bekam perfekte odds (naja ok gut waren sie alle mal 2,71:1) und konnte einen der anstrengendsten fische ausnehmen. der mich noch dazu ausgefloppt hatte (was auch sonst):

ich sag euch ich hab mich lang nicht mehr so über einen pot gefreut. und da gehts gar net um die größe des pots. aber gegen den typen schmeckt das einfach zu süß......

hier wieder ein special und wieder kommt ein "draw" an. das board pairte und ich brauchte es wohl auch! in den letzten beiden tagen neige ich dazu sets auf unglaublich schirchen (unschönen^^) boards zu floppen und dazu hab ich immer noch so 4-5 caller. hier kann ich nix machen. gsd pairt das board und bringt mir einen schönen pot ein. ich denk schon er hatte da nuts am flop.

Big celebration from the online supporters here in Austria. Our friend Matthias has just won PokerStars LAPT Florianópolis in Brasil. Right now we can't believe what happened during the last days and especially today .. he dominated the tournament from the beginning and today goin into the final he just lost the lead once (during the HU), fought back and became champion ... first austrian pokerplayer to win a LAPT tournament, one of the few austrian poker players out there winning a major ... and it looks like he's goin to become a pro now too :) ... so unreal and just great!

Once again, congratulation Mothe .. you deserved it and did a real great job!!!!

Our good friend Matthias a.k.a. Santiniii is actually dominating LAPT Florianapolis. he's the chipleader after day 1 - facing a field of 356 total, including some pros like WSOP Champion Joe Cada or other Team Pokerstars Members like Humberto Brenes, Andre Akkari or Victor Ramdin. I hope Matthias will hold on and go for it ... think this would be a dream coming true and a really great thing for him. So let's wish him luck and a good hand! We gonna keep an eye on him ... if you want just look on pokerstarsblog.com or google for lapt florianapolis.

Myself is goin to play a 50 euro buyin freezeout tonight, nothing big, just about 55 players max. - lets see what comes outta this, .. also looking for some cash game afterwards. next weekend, 14th of august, I will play the carinthian part of the austrian poker tour at Pörtschach; the Main Event on saturday will be a 200 Euro buy-in freezeout and I hope to do well there .. Matthias will be there too!

Update: Day 2 of LAPT Florianapolis .. Matthias is still on top .. with 36 players remaining he's actually on position 8 with a chipcount of 298000 (chipleader has 536500 - average is about 202000). We hope he'll reach the final table or even take it down :)

Update after Day 3: Matthias is massive chipleader after Day 3 and right before the Final Table of the remaining 8 players. His stack is 3.2 million, while the 7 other players together have 3.6 in total ... this is a real huge thing and we hope he gonna take it down ... a title on the LAPT would be great!

I am up like 20 buy-ins this week at NL20, which is huge, given the fact that I have only been playing for 3.5 days. I am down 2 buy-ins though at HU, mainly because of hands like that:

#1 hero call gone wrong We were pretty early in the match and he seemed very aggro. I could not really interpret his flop-minraise and thought it might well be a straight or flush draw. I have to call such a small raise on the flop anyways. I guess I could fold the turn pretty well, but I decided on calling down, so I would also have called without the A pairing on the river. I just thought he might continue with his bluffs and shut down on his weak value hands.

#2 the competition really sucks To the untrained eye it might seem like I am the sucker in that hand and it is partly true. I did not have the most equity in this hand, but my villains action's really show how bad some of the regs on w2d play. (both villains are kind of regulars) For me my flop play is very very standard, I will shove here most of the time against competent opponents and fold most of the time against normal players, against ueber-fish I might call because they will stack off with TT+ if I make my straight since they are not able to fold any overpair, no matter how dangerous the board is. I think my shove here is particularly good because the initial does not only have to worry about me, but also about the button flatting his potsized c-bet. So by shoving I put him in a sandwich, still he called with KK, like he said, which I find incredibly bad. (I should not be too hard though because in that case he even had the best hand!) You also have to factor that against KK I have 40% equity here. I might also shove the NFD and other combo-draws here against which he is 50%, and of course there are my sets and 2pairs that have him crushed. Still he called. I hope the 2nd reg called with some sort of draw that he was priced into then, and not with some 99-sort-of hand. In that particular case my equity wasn't maybe all that good if the 2nd villain had a FD, but normally I think if the initial goes out also the 2nd reg will usually fold and everything is fine. So I like to think that my play is very +EV in that spot, but I would love to hear your comments on that. (Also, the hand lead to a funny dialoge in the chat, were both villains insuleted me pretty badly. I do to some extend understand them, but still I think I played my hand better than they did.)

#3 getting trapped Too easy for him. Just the way I play AA in a HU 3-bet pot. He stacked me perfectly. To my excuse I must say that I didn't know my villain at that time, just realzied that he is some kind of genius regular. I guess if I could have played that hand 24 hours later, I wouldn't have stacked off anymore. Well, we've all got our dues to pay.

Gonna play one more sesh now I think, am a bit tired though, so I guess I won't be playing NL50. ..... I've allready seen some very very sweet NL10 games (FR, 10handed, 74% plr. p. flop), so I might jump in there just for the fun of it.

Played some sessions the last 24 hours, again did well in all of them. Also started playing my first NL50 FR-games, was a bit in the black there also, even though I could not win a complete stack there yet. I was just nittying around and picking up a few bucks here and there. I don't seem to have a tremendous edge (yet! hopefully) since the games are mostly stuffed with regulars, but there are also some shortstacked fish there, so I should turn out a winning player in the long run, i guess. Pretty exited to be slowly moving up, as it seems to me that NL50 is the first stake that involves kind of "serious" money.

hands of the day:

monster pot at NL20 /// the huge stack in MP3 was a huge fish that almost played every hand, he was the reason for my weird overraise pf. On that flop I wanna play for stacks against this competition and no reg being in the hand. Turned out pretty fine as I held up, I guess it was the biggest pot I have ever won online in terms of BB. Almost 500BB in there, pretty sick.

stacking villain beautifully /// My flop-donkbet looked like a J to him. And then he most likely hit his 9 on the river and couldn't get out anymore. Turned out pretty sweetly.

Hey guys, If you wanna have some fun come join me playing the NL20 games on w2d, as they seem to have some kind of "fuck the regulars - week". It's not that fun for me of course, as I am kind of a regular there. I have played five sessions (7h alltogether) over the last 24 hours and manged to turn a profit in all of them, on time even raking in over 600BB, making this my biggest winning-sesh ever. But I always think what could have been if this "promotion" had not been on. All the regulars, including me, seemed to suffer tremendous beats in an unreal quantity. A little poutpourrie for you:

///2 ---> Villain is a total spew monkey, that's why I stack off here pf.

///3 ---> Kind'a plays itself for both of us. Still sucks.

///4 ---> A good spot to lose a lot of money ... Sweet river!

///5 ---> Villain is a fish that will stack off with Ax or KQ here. Of course I have to make my hand on the turn. Thx. Just what I needed.

///6 ---> This one is close, tough. Villain is a very thinking, very aggressive player. I don't really think he is bluffing here, but I played my hand very deceptively, repping a hand like A3s, 77 or 99, so I figured he might value-over-bet a decent ace here, of which I beat most. Maybe that assumption is wrong tough. Don't know. Sucks, because his flush is so well disguised.

///7 ---> I had devious plans for this hand, completely disguising the strenght of my hand. I felt like with that flop he might be tempted to stack off with hands like 99-QQ also. In a way the turn card ruinded my plans. ;) I still felt there was plenty of equity to get from JJ to QQ and so tried to get it in. The river card is even nastier for my range, but what should I do, I had so much invested, furhtermore I was allready tilted, so I stuck it in and was beat again.

I'd suggest you try to run better or just don't play on w2d until the promotion is over. ;)

Played a little sesh just one hour ago. Ran like shit but still manged to finish up 1 stack, which is around 13€/h, which is ok.
These two impudences ruinded a more glorious victory: grmph1; grmph2
Maybe hand2 deserves a bit more thought, since I did some research on my villain there (PT I love you) and now I can say that I think he stackes off here only with aces, so I should have folded to his 4bet. I didn't know him being sooooo tight when the hand occured, so it's kind'a coolerish. Folding KK pre for 100BB in a 5max-game is bit devious anyways, so ...
puit? --> Same thing here, I didn't know the villain. My ultra mega-gay-flop-3-bet was destined to be a shove, but I missclicked. I thought he was a fish and would stack off with hands like TT or 99 here, and if he calls with 42 preflop he very well might be that kind of guy. He deserved to win this one though.
meh! --> Turn call is huge mistake on my part, the board is just too dangerous, I can't beat anything and have almost no way to improve if he has me beat. If he does not have me beat he is most likely drawing very life, so I should have folded there. The thing that annoyed me about the hand = the turn card! The only card he can make his hand and still get action out of me.

weehhhh --> Villain was a huge fish. You gotta know your enemy!
nice value bet --> I love the river. I love him paying off. Thx to my buddy Zeebo! ;)
BAABBBAAAAAMMM --> I raise flop for a free card. I think he is capeable of 3betting with AK, AQ, there, and since we were 150BB deep and he still had like 100BB left I decided to shove my huge draw there. I think he can only call with sets or AT, so I got really lucky there. But I had my 12 outs there, so the hand kind'a plays itself.
b/f the river is fine --> he eventually had the 85, 75, 76 or 65. Got max. value here.

ich hab in meinem leben noch nie eine hand so schlecht gespielt. der flop check ist unterirdisch das turn all in ja mein gott gegen den stack aber es is trotzdem miserabel gespielt. war da wohl grad abgelenkt auf einem anderen tisch und nicht mit den gedanken bei der arbeit weil am flop all in und fertig!
der witz ist: ws hätt er flop allin eh bezahlt und mich ausgesuckt^^

#3 AA

gsd gibts noch schlechtere spieler als mich^^ weil das board ist ja eigentlich sehr gefährlich. aber mir war schon alles wurst^^ außerdem kann ich eh nix machen. wenn ich conti bette (normal) bin ich eh committed

looser gegner....ein fisch. echt....preflop jede hand raise. am flop egal wieviele gegner und welche hand er hat jede hand pot conti bet um dann die hand am turn aufzugeben. und broke gehen mit top pair.......das alles sah ich von ihm. und dann hat der hundling genau wenn ich top two hab 99 schei* 9er^^
ich glaub ich kann da aufgrund des villiain profils nichts machen........er geht da mit A2 broke und wie gesagt ich sah ihn auch mit top pair broke gehen (und gut shot).........tja aus meiner sicht ein set-up btw. hatte 4 outs :D und backdoor nut flush draw

auf jeden fall war ich ziemlich down. und dann wollte ich nur gambeln^^ na also so schlimm wars nicht. ganz auf tilt geh ich nicht mehr so im griff hab ich mich schon. aber ich begann halt auf den shorthanded tischen mehr zu raisen. und auf den fullring tischen spekulierte ich halt ein bisschen öfter mit suited cards. naja sollte sich bezahlt machen.
MONSTERHAND auf NL 20 brachte mich ins plus. sehr sehr sicke hand und ich glaub fast die gegner hatten beide sets. oder einer set einer flush. möglich das AA vs. KK war wer weiß.....:

fast ein monat kein eintrag von mir hmmm^^ das geht nicht *g*

aber bin nicht viel zum pokern gekommen......aber die letzten 4 tage 2 kurze sessions mir klarem plus beendet ein paar hände hab ich für euch:

zuerst die von heute morgen bzw. gestern nacht.....:

gute calls von mir bei der hand....

#1 QQ
gegner unbekannter 1 table spieler....ich gab ihm NICHTS (sprich Ace high). am turn war ich mir fast sicher er hat keinen flush. da die meisten einen solchen zu mir checken würden. river zwar overcard für mich aber die odds waren zu gut da muss ich callen. das er dann nichts zeigt machte mich glücklich und bestätigte meine ahnung am turn^^

#2 AK
da sieht man wie wichtig es ist eine notiz über einen spieler zu haben. normalerweise sollte man es eher vermeiden mit AK preflop all in zu gehen (im cashgame) aber bei ihm hatte ich halt stehen: sehr looser spieler/ limp raise all in muss nichts heißen!
darauf und nur daraufhin entschloss ich mich all in zu gehen.......A am turn und danke sehr :)

Ausflug zur CAPT Velden - Ein interessanter Abend

First I'm sorry, but I will blog this entry in german, cause it's easier or better said, maybe it's more interesting for german speaking readers to hear about a event which is mainly visited by germans and austrians (of course also a lot of italian, slovenians and nordic players).

Also dann will ich mal mit den Fakten starten: Freitag Abend um 18 Uhr ging's rauf nach Velden, Hitze pur bei knapp 35 Grad, im Ort angekommen war ich froh ins klimatisierte Casino zu kommen. Counter schnell erledigt, rein in die Cash Area, nebenan lief das 200er Rebuy-Omaha Turnier, aber da war keine großartige Action und kaum Zuseher. Im Cash Bereich dafür umso mehr und es gab auch genügend Tische mit allen möglichen Limits - von NL 400 (2/4) aufwärts bis PLO 10k (50/100) lief so einiges. Ich hab zuerst mal eine Stunde nur gerailed, Karli beim 2/4 NLHE über die Schulter gesehen (grats übrigens nachträglich zum 13. beim 500er Event und dem kleinen HendonMob Eintrag), dann Matthias begrüßt und ihm kurz bei 2/4 bzw. 5/5 zugesehen. Dazwischen stand ich am 20/40 PLO Tisch mit Pros wie Jan Peter Jachtmann und Michael Keiner, gegenüber lief der HighRoller 50/100 Tisch mit Niki Jedlicka (der schön die 10k Chips vor sich stapelte, nice anzusehen haha), Toni Varjavand oder Stefan Rapp .. Markus Golser stand zwar auf der Liste, erschien aber leider den ganzen Abend nicht; weitere bekannte Gesichter die ich sichtete und beim Spielen beobachtete: Rino Mathias, Severin Walser, Marcel Koller (ja die Schweizer Fraktion war generell stark vertreten), Marc Gork, Eddy Scharf, Markus Lehmann, Andreas Krause, Erich Kollmann, Sigi Stockinger und einige unbekanntere, internationale Namen bzw. Gesichter, die man aber bei diversen EPT Übertragungen zumindest mal gesehen hat. Alles in allem sehr nett anzusehen - vorallem der Highroller Tisch wo ich zB einen Pot von rund 16 bis 20k sah - schön das sowas in einer Hand übern Tisch wandert, .. aber angeblich waren das Peanuts zum letzten Jahr wo Pöte von 200k und mehr ausgespielt wurden.

Nunja, back to basics .. ich konnt dann nicht anders und hab mich auch zu 2/4 hinreißen lassen - musste einfach sein und so ein Unterschied zu 1/2 ist es dann auch wieder nicht - das muss schon mal riskierbar sein, wenn man dort ist und in dem Ambiente praktisch Rücken an Rücken mit den Pros sitzen kann. Direkt am Tisch hatte ich leider keinen, obwohl ich fast an Tisch 15 mit Marcel Koller (6. bei der EPT Berlin) gekommen wäre - Karli war ne Weile dort und was ich gesehen hab, war das Spiel dort auch recht gemütlich. Bei mir gings auch nicht extrem her .. für meine erste NL400 Runde war ich zufrieden. Konnte einmal mit Q9 nen größeren Pot gewinnen und später mit JJ (am River Trips) auf ca. 420 aufbauen (leider am River mein restliches AllIn von 84 nicht mehr bezahlt worden - das Gegenüber hatte anscheinend nur ein Paar 10 wie ich später herausfand und das Board lagt mit AQxxJ doch recht gefährlich für ihn haha). Nunja, ich hätt dann aufstehen sollen - wollte es auch, hab 15 Min. rumüberlegt ob ichs tun soll .. und das war wohl eine Minute zuviel, weil in besagter Minute ging alles am River rein und war auch schon pfutsch ... board AKJ8A ... ich hatte AQ, rechts neben mir der looseste Spieler am Tisch der vorher nur Mist spielte oder oft grausige Showdowns zeigte - nunja, er hatte A8 und somit das Full House getroffen und ich war broke. 200 dahin - hat mich sogar sehr geärgert, weils gegen diesen Spieler war und ich vorher am Tisch recht gut gespielt hab .. ein Fehler und weg bist du (ich hätt am River ja nur behind checken müssen, dann hätte ich mir ca. 200 und wär noch immer +/- 0 gewesen, .. blöder Fehler).

Es folgte etwas Abkühlung bei nem Getränk an der Bar und Gesprächen mit Johannes und Picco die inzwischen eingetroffen waren. Nun begann ich wieder etwas zu railen und nahm dann an einem neuen 2/4 Tisch Platz, in der Hoffnung das Minus wieder reinzukriegen. Nunja, kurz gesagt - ich hab diesen Tisch wieder mit 200 verlassen .. also +/- 0 nach ca. 4-5 Stunden Spielzeit .. wobei ich schon auf 40 runter war und auch hier einmal böse ausgekauft wurde. Ich hielt recht früh am Tisch QQ, ein Internetkid mir gegenüber callt mit trotz conti am flop und turn mit 88 schön runter und hittet am River seine Trips, wo er dann aber meine Bet nur mehr bezahlt, da zuviel draussen lag .. trotzdem ugly - schlecht gespielt von ihm bei dem Board. Aber ich hab mir später mit Full House Kings over Queens, gegen sein Full House Queens over Kings einiges retour geholt ;) .. der spielte sehr swingy, hätt weiter mehr gewinnen können wenn er solide gewesen wär. Sonst recht gemütlicher Tisch, keine Riesenpöte bis auf ca. 5-10 Hände .. trotzdem anstrengend, ermüdend und einschläfernd, weil die Action nicht so heftig war und auch nicht soviel Geld am Tisch lag - aber war dafür ne nette Erfahrung :) ... und ich war in meiner harten Phase froh, dass ich 2 mal keinen Call bekam .. weil da hab ich nur gedrawed und musste mal reinstellen .. mit 45 auf nem Board mit 836, auf eine bet von 30 repush mit 80; davor hab ich zwei mal mit ministack gepushed .. einmal K9 suited, wobei mich mein Nachbar der vorher geraised hatte nicht aufdoppeln wollte wie er wörtlich sagte und KQ foldete (er war aber sehr nett, ich fand das in Ordnung dass er hier gegen eine "bessere Hand" nicht gambeln wollte - hatte schon ein sehr tightes Image im Tisch und das war auch gut so. In der Hand darauf holte ich mir nochmal die Blinds und 2 Limps mit 55 gleich nochmal gepushed. In dieser Art und Weise konnte ich wieder auf 200 aufbauen und verlies dann nach langem, zähen Spiel und recht müde (war ja doch von 18 Uhr weg dort) um 3 Uhr früh den Saal, Matthias hat noch gespielt - diverse Pros waren auch noch heftig am zocken wie ich sah, eine Runde zum Abschluss gedreht und dann rein in die Tiefgarage, ab ins Auto und über die Autobahn heim ins Bett wo ich bei deftiger Hitze um halb 4 sowieso nicht schlafen konnte und somit am Ende heute keine 3 Stunden Schlaf bekam :D ... aber egal, es war ne tolle Erfahrung dabei gewesen zu sein und das war mir die 200 allemal wert (schliesslich spiel ich im JPS ja auch oft genug mit 200, somit ship it). Notiz am Rande: paar sonstige Promis gesichtet, so zB Toni Polster der gegen Mitternacht in den Saal kam (nettes Bäuchlein hat unsere Ex-Nummer 9 übrigens angesetzt haha) ... und diverse wunderschöne Frauen, ... ein Wahnsinn welche Schönheiten anscheinend das Leben als Pokerspieler anzieht (abgesehen von einigen richtig hübschen Dealerinnen hehe).

So long, den Besuch war es wert, .. der geplante zweite für heut Abend zum Main Event wird wohl gestrichen - es ist mir einfach zu heiß um nochmal raufzufahren, dann wieder Eintritt zahlen und vllt. zum Cashgame hinreißen lassen, ... nö :D .. obwohl ich gerne mal Golser oder Donev beim Main Event über die Schulter gesehen hätte. Karli wünsch ich für diesen übrigens viel Erfolg und ein gutes Blatt - du kannst es sicher brauchen signore High Low ;)

Update: bin heut nachmittag draufgekommen dass zu später Stunde der Sieger des PLO Rebuy Events (ein junger Deutscher) bei uns am Tisch Platz nahm .. der konnte dort locker mitspielen nachdem er im PLO 20k gewonnen hat ;) dementsprechend war er gut aufgelegt (aber nix gegen den lustigen Dänen (glaub Ole Johansson war sein Name) der immer wieder kam und ging und ne echte Attraktion war haha). Sein Kumpel (Mr. "Internet-Kid" mir gegenüber mit 88 gg. meine Queens und später mit Full House gegen mein höheres Full House, war übrigens im 500er Event 17. geworden, .. also immerhin hatte ich zwei bei der CAPT bereits erfolgreiche Spieler am Tisch)

.. make a total of 660 bucks and a profit of some 565 out of a minus of 130 ... that's the story I should write a book about, after the last night ;)

it was a pretty great night (ending up in a tournament win at approx. 3.30 in the morning, with 5 players left, making a deal) and I'm fine now, .. but I think I gonna need a break and some sleep, also due to that university exam on tuesday.

more details to follow .. I will update this one during the day (also reporting of a bounty a catched on the final table, my sick run to that final table and how I managed to finally reach a final table side-by-side with my buddy Matthias, who also was one of those 5 guys .. !) *I LIKE*

Update

So to sum up yesterday's evening, I can give you a short report of what happened. I played the monthly rebuy tournament at JPS card room (buyin 25+5+10 .. the 10 is a bounty, in total there was one unknown bounty player on each table - worth 100 euros when you beat him/her) .. in total we were around 44 players (four full tables) and created a price pool of some 2.9k euros as I remember (not very much, also because 3.5k were estimated [of course not guaranteed]).

I was drawn to table 3, seat 4 and knew quite of lot of people at my table. in total I knew most of the players in the tourney .. no surprise to me as it was a small field. at my table there were old and young players, mixed up .. a "trash talk bitch" (i knew him before, but it's rather hard to concentrate when someone is talking and talking and talking ... and we had levels of 30 minutes at the beginning, so until the first break we had 1 1/2 hours ... this was nasty!!) .. btw he is one the loosiest player I know. beside that I had two very arrogant guys to my right, thinking they know how play and that they are soooo good. to be honest, I wasn't very happy in the early stage!! i took the first rebuy when I sat down, so I had 3k at the beginning, which already went all in the first hand, when I had a flush draw against the two others (mr. rock - one of the oldest guys I know, but I already played him so often and he's really nice ... and of course mr. trash talk) but no flush .. so next rebuy. in the following 20 hands or so I pushed AJ and AK, once lost, once splitted the side pot against another AK, and took another double rebuy). in the middle of the 2nd level I think there was a three-way allin between mr. trash talk, one of the aggro-arrogant ones and me .. but my play was a bit loose, as I called both all ins (I had less chips of course) with 77 .. and I hit a 7 on the flop :) .. so I trippled up to some 10k which was ok and my rescue. at the break I took the double addon and I think in total I spent some 100-110 euros on the tourney (I should write down how many rebuys I take and how much I spend). so I had 14k after the break, which was ok, but not the world - quite average I think.

after the break play slowed down a little bit, the freezeout cooled some heads I think ;) .. mr. trash talk went on with his terror and I was really frustrated at some point, as he slowed down the play on the table, always asking stupid questions and making jokes with some young guys behind him, letting us wait. in the end I had some nice hands here and was able to double up and also take 2 players off the table I think. when we were down to 20 players, I came to table 2 and was seated 2 places to the left of Matthias, my former student, now poker buddy and friend .. and of course the best player I know by personal (btw he already has his first hendon-mob entry from the LAPT Peru and just qualified for LAPT Florianapolis) .. so first time we were on the same table in a tournament. we played cash several times but never met like this. on this table I had the key hand of the tourney. I think blinds were 400/800 or 500/1000 and I made it 2.5k with A9 offsuit (or was it suited, hm) .. one call in MP, all others folded around to a guy sitting on the other end of the table (i was in seat 3, he on 8 or 9) and he made it 10k straight .. action came back to me, I took a really short moment, and 4-bet .. shove all in for a total of 22.6k I think .. action back to him, .. short thinking, eventually taking chips and call ... show down. he turned over a pair of red sixes .. so I was lucky and had two over cards .. flop was no help, but the ace on the turn was my win :) .. now I had over 50k in total, .. nice! Matthias was moved to table one and so I had to reach final table if I want to play on with him. play was rather hard due to fast levels and high blinds ... so no-one really had a good stack when we finally reached the final table! I had about 50k I think .. blinds soon came to 2k/4k and 3/6k .. with antes of 500 or 1000 .. I can't exactly remember the structure that time as it was around 2 or 3 in the morning. I was lucky on that final table, took of 2 guys, another one was busted by someone else and so we were just 7 left .. my stack was getting bigger and bigger .. I had good cards and managed to play my A-Game there (btw at FT I was sitting right to Matthias directly to my left, .. nice setup) when we were just 6 left I found KK in the BB, short stack moved all in 2nd pos. .. and I just had to snap call .. his 55 was no good and suddenly the dealer announced "BOUNTY", .. and to my surprise I busted the last remaining bounty player haha :D .. nice one, 100 bucks to me. in the end I had such good cards there, so I was able to make pressure all the time against the blinds and also against the others .. my stack was 160k, most of them had 80k-90k and the old chipleader, Matthias, had become short stack with less. it was around 3.30 in the morning when two of the others asked why we haven't thought about a deal so far .. and as the floorman already announced next level of 10k/20k the next hand, this would have become a crap-shoot push or fold luck-game for everyone ... so we decided to make a deal ... everyone gets 550 euros and Matthias had to give me his 50 as he was quite short and I had a really good chiplead (to be honest we both wanted to play it out, that's what we said before the final table started, but at this moment it was a good decision I think) .. so in total with the bounty, some tip for the dealers, some two or three drinks I had some plus of 550-565 euros and also a ticket for the next big tourney on august the 6th. we left the house and I was happy when I fell into my bed around 4AM :D .. that's it

Btw I'm not playing so much online these days, .. when it happens you'll normally could find me on the SH-5max NL50 tables at win2day or on tournaments (just made 21st place on todays freeroll with over 900 entries, which I decided to play for fun beside soccer WC). Next week CAPT Velden is starting, .. I'll be there to rail my friends Karli, Matthias and some others I know ... this will be for the 2k main event on 17th and 18th .. maybe also goin there once before .. lets see. so far I'm not sure, but maybe I gonna play the 350 euro bounty tournament on 18th, .. but I think I will let it pass and just make a visit as a railbird and watch the highroller cash games of the participating german/austrian pros .. should be interesting. Not so bad ... to this you can add a 20€-win in a rather uneventful live cash game with uni-collegues. I like my red line much more this month than I did in May, definitely played more aggressively ... but you can also see that my overall win-rate has declined a bit. So maybe I was being too aggressive, or was just having an upswing in May, who knows. Doesn't matter.
Anyhow, I am looking forward to the summer and hopefully playing a bit more, since 10k hands a month is not really a very impressive samplesize.
1 more exam, 1 paper still to write. Besides that lots of running, lots of beer. ;)

The Velvet Underground & Nico - sunday morning

Just finished a very, very good 1,5h-session at NL20. Pretty much owned everybody.

If I am at the top of my game I am really crushing the SH-tables at this limit, my bankroll is now approaching 2k and I can finally slowly start thinking of moving to NL50. I won't hurry too much, though.
In general I enjoy playing these 5max-tables a lot, much more than I ever enjoyed playing FR. I've caught up a lot on my aggression, however there are some days where I still play too passively imo, it's like falling back to old ways. At least it keeps me more unpredictable.

Hands of the day:

#1 68s: Do you value-bet this river? ??? I was actually thinking of trying to bluff him off a hand like 99, but finally opted against it.

#2 Q9s: Looks pretty good, but is pretty basic imo. He is never checking back an Ace or a Q on the flop, so i have to bet the turn. When he calls he can pretty much only have 44 or 54 to beat me, otherwise he is drawing. Therefore the river-K is pretty much a blank and I guess I have to call off.

#3 54s: He had been 3-betting me all the time for the last days, so I had to take a stand one time. Figured this was a good spot to do so.

#4 T8s: Optional call pf, great flop, super-good outcome. I mean, winning 140BB without having to show my hand, I definitely love that. He wrote that he folded KK, I can't really believe that, allthough I would be delighted to get that much respect.

Played some hands of SH-NL20 in the past 24 hours, 500BB up, it's not so bad. Basically been crushing everyone, sick reads, did one huge suckout, suffered one, so everything's fine.

HU against a very aggressive villain, normally I would love to donk-bet my hand here, but I am afraid, given his sick aggression, that he might raise me with bare overcards, in which case I wouldn't know what to do. So I decided to c/c and if I c/c the flop I almost have to c/c any turn, because I suppose he is likely to fire with anything. I actually liked the Q on the turn and called once again, planning to call most rivers. Suppose a blank falls on the river and he still bets: what do you put him on then? Basically a five, a set, AA & KK and maybe AQ, but he will check behind with all pairs inbetween the 5 and the Q, also with a 4, etc. He won't shut down on his pure plays though, I think. So I happyly called the turn, planning to hero call most rivers. The A obviously is not a good card for me, since it might very well have hit him. I snorted with rage [my roommates probably think I am going totally nuts] and checked it over to him, planning to fold, he bet, just the amount I would expect him to bet with an ace and I got ready to fold. The mouse was just over the fold-button when it suddenly hit me: "I could represent a 5" "This is a great spot to represent a 5." "I'm gonna represent a 5!" And boooom, that's what I did. I mean, I would rarely play a 5 or 44 that way, but I guess he doesn't know that. And after all he was a good thinking player, he was just aggressive, not really spewing around this much, so maybe he just had to fold there. After long deliberation he eventually did so.

Besides poker I am working a lot [still not enough] for university and playing a lot of squash. I am starting to really get into this game and turn out to play better after every session. And of course there's the world cup, which comes together with funny prob-betting with my roommates (especially the german one) and of course extensive consumption of beer before, during and after the matches. Good life!

Happy swingy times to me ... ok not so extreme .. but these days I was a bit frustrated and to be honest it was my own fault and just stupid ;)

First of all I had a good run .. some two weeks ago I had about 7 days (sunday to sunday) running really hot in live performance .. made several appearances on tourneys and cash game (all together it were 4 visits at JPS card room) .. and I always went out with a plus ... I already posted that as comments on doc's entries .. think in total I was up some 300 euro at the end of that live-week ... I wanted to try something like that for a long time ... playing live minimum half of the week, and it went good! (tournament of course at the end of the week, were just some sort of crapshoot) For example on the 2nd sunday I took a shot at the 5 euro rebuy and took some 5 oder 6 double rebuys for 10 bucks each ... and the double addon ... means I spent about 70 euros on this one (I think so) and maybe financed the 3rd place by myself haha :D :D .. sick acting I know, not so good! I became 7th or 8th and took nothing outta it .. but right after changing to the cash game it was back in my pocket, with a little plus of some 40 bucks I think. This was some sort of crap shoot evening for me :D

Last saturday mr. hi-lo Karli F. and I had the wonderful idea to visit JPS and look for some action. what a surprise - noone else had this idea. So we watched Cameroon vs. Denmark (mr. Karli was happy about denmark winning, as he bet on them before haha .. I was for Cameroon, but I don't bet on sports .. so this was fun anyways .. and quite loud and a thriller for our nerves). We decided to stay a bit longer and wait for other players, but noone came .. so I was so stupid and accepted on a HU with mr. hi-lo "i'm not able to play good texas" omaha :D ... 1/2 blinds, texas nl and omaha pl. there we went ... First i played with 100, ... took some 150 from him already and he was on tilt ... reloaded once, twice .. and suddenly a nasty hand came to the table .... which meant I flopped a full house in omaha .. board TT4 .. I had 44xx in my hand, .. he had a T and some 5xx ... turn was a 5 and everything went into the pot .. was about 500 in total I think .. and I had to reload as he had made the better full. in the end this 2nd 100 went to mr. K. too and I loaded for a last time 100 again ... and these went to him too ... so after some 80 minutes I think, I was down 300 and quit! this was horrible .... and really STUPID from me ... I don't know why I accepted, .. just no word about it.

Yesterday i got a call from Karli, that there'll be a nice round, with a lot of fish in it ... so I drove to the JPS after work and sat down with him and two other guys I didn't know. three regulars showed up after one hour, two fishy one included :) ... and in the end our table woth 8 handed .. which was really fine and cool. we played dealers choice,.. I bought in with 100, .. was already up to 170, .. down to about 55 after I had to call to see some flops etc. and lost some little pots too. I added 50 euros more to be at a good level, as most had 200 and more infront of them now. some time I had about 75 left again (yes poker, or better said omaha, is really expensive when everyone pays a raise or you have to call 6-10 euros everytime preflop to see a flop with good cards in your hand) .. I found QQ34 double suited in hearts and spades in my hand, a raise to 10, call, call, a reraise to pot of 40 or 50 something, .. a call from one beside me, and I push all in with my rest .. get 3 calls in total, one fish, a tight rock only playing nuts and a good regular who made the pot raise (btw he had AAxx) .. flop came down not so bad, small cards with two hearts .. the pot raiser went all in .. the rock folded, the fish went into tank, and decided to call it. turn was a blank I don't remember and the river was the ace of hearts which made me 2nd nuts flush, .. the pot raiser showed trips aces, the fish folded .. so the side pot was goin north of the table, .. and the main pot went into the south .. to my flush :D .. this pot was worth about 320 bucks total, and I was up 170 now! :) ... I stayed a little bit longer as I didn't want to make "hit and run" and the table was really smooth and interesting, big pots included .. so in the end I lost another 80 bucks from there and left the house with 240 around midnight .. which means 90+ .. that's ok after the cooler from saturday.

I hope my luck on full ring or short handed tables will hold on .. as I also tried NL50 on w2d and run pretty stable at the moment .. three times I played a 5max table and so far I'm up 60 euros :) ... I like that limit and players are quite good, .. seems like I could have some more shots there.

dann nennt sich das langsam omaha upswing. aber mein gegner ist ein vollzapfen. der typ ging davor mit top pair (richtig top pair am flop beim omaha!) reihenweise all in. gewann dann noch einen 30$ pot nur mit top pair. weil eine anderer seinen open endend straight flush draw nicht traf.

der typ raiste jede hand. und ich entschloss mich ihn nur in position zu callen(da auch ein bisschen spekulieren). bzw. mit sehr starken händen auch oop.
und dann so ein flop. ich habe nur mehr gehofft dass er irgendein schrott paar auf der hand hat für ein full house.
am river wusste ich das er stark sein muss. immerhin check raist er mich. ich grübelte. soll ich gleich all in gehen? hmm das is dann doch ein bisschen viel. also entschloss ich mich für ein raise auf das ca. 3-fache was er geraist hatte. und bekam gsd seinen call.

ich seh jetzt er hatte KK. das ärgert mich maßlos. ich glaub wenn ich die hand vom flop weg bette. geht er broke! aber ich hab eh fast einen ganzen stack gekriegt also wars eh ok. wundert mnich fast dass er nicht am river geshoved hat!

und weiter. grad ein 5h turnier hinter mir. lächerlich. ich war chip 5ter krieg AA (waren noch 14 spieler) ich limpe in der absicht ein all in zu callen. einer shoved auch (der chip 4te) zeigt 44 und der blöde sack trifft natürlich am turn an 2 outer...........das is so extrem lächerlich und schmerzhaft. gwinn ich die hand bin ich am final table und auf wahnsinns kurs. zipft mich an. 20€ gwonnen. war ein 2€ re buy turnier..........tja hat mal wieder nicht sollen sein ich bins eh schon gwohnt so rauszufliegen. normal is es immer KK vs. AA gwesen^^

jaja und wenn das set zum poker wird.....

dann ist das bitter für den gegner der auch ein set floppte........war auf party auf PL25 omaha!
ich wollt den flop check raisen. dann checken alle. ich hatte eine wut weil: no slow play in a multi way pot. ich hätt betten sollen. aber was macht der andere setter? er checkt auch macht den gleichen fehler wie ich.
wobei ich es im ersten moment nicht als fehler gesehn hab. der tisch war sehr aggro und war mir sicher einer würde betten. gsd blankt der turn. und er raist mich und ich sitz mit nuts da :D das sind die schönsten pokermomente^^

er hat da glaub ich fast keine chance nicht broke zu gehen. er kan mirr viele two pairs geben mit denen ich vlt broke gehe.........flush liegt nix. straße auch nicht. da ist es wohl schwer ein set zu folden. wenn man einen read auf einen gegner hat kann mans vlt verhindern............mit anderem flop play auch. wenn ich bsw. bette er raist mich und ich geh all in. dann sollte man drüber nachdenken 55 zu folden.........am turn kann er zwar noch folden. aber wie gesagt er kennt mich nicht ich kenn ihn nicht. ich kann ja ein fish sein. ich kann mit vielem broke gehen deshalb ist es für mich verständlich dass er da broke geht.....

gegner ist ein mmn schwacher regular. er spielt zwar 8 tische, aber man kann oft dinge beobachten die nicht sehr schlau sind. hier hat er wohl das overpair........

die ist mir besonders lieb. weil ich endlich einen ausnehmen konnte der die ganze zeit nur blöde sprüche abgelassen hat. normalerweise hab ich den chat aus. aber der hat in einer hand voll geluckt (nicht gegen mich) und hat dann nur mehr geschrieben wie gut er ist........dann kam es zum glücklichen zufall das er in mein set läuft. und dann hat er geschimpft. nicht jugendfrei sag ich nur^^. ich hab mich köstlich amüsiert - der hieß übrigens bankroll - tiger müsste ihn eh kennen........

NL 50 Shot - fand den fisch und fischte ihn

man fragt sich halt schon was ist los wenn man eienn nl 50 tisch sieht wo 50% spieler pro flop spielen.

ich setzte mich dazu und sah gleich was abging. ein ziemlicher dicker karpfen saß da. ich entschloss mich einfach wirklich rockig zu spielen und auf DIE hand zu warten. hat sich geloht eine session mit 47€ + ist außergewöhnlich :)

session war ziemlich krass.floppte 5 sets in 30min!!!!! leider wurde nur dieses ausbezahlt. naja lol was heißt NUR. gsd genau dieses sag ich eher ^^

die turn karte war gut und schlecht. ich mein er könnt ja theoretisch 66 haben^^ nein am turn war ich nicht sicher was ich machen soll. er checkt zu mir und jeder halbwegs normale spieler würde auf eine bet von mir folden. hier entschloss ich mich aber zu einer bet, denn er is ja ein fisch und fische neigen ja zum callen. besser: er check raist mich^^. einzige hand mit der ich das verstehen würde wäre 33
